Pakistan Beat Sri Lanka in 6th T 20 of series, 2009

Sri Lanka was scheduled to play a 7 Match T 20 International series in Pakistan in 2009. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as they are ranked at 3 and 5. The 6th T 20 international match was to be played on Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Pakistan. Pakistan holds the upper hand as they are more balanced team and playing very well as well.

Pakistan batted well and was able to post total of 170 runs in 20 over’s at the loss of 9 wickets and with top scores of Y Khan who made 70 runs in 70 balls with 2 4’s and 2 six at the strike rate of 100 runs in 100 balls and S Afridi who made 50 runs in 30 balls with 1 4’s and 4 six at the strike rate of 166 runs in 100 balls.

Sri Lanka was needed to score 171 runs in 20 over’s to win this match.

Sri Lanka batted well but was unable to chase the target of 171 runs and was only able to make 162 runs in 20 over’s at the loss of 9 wickets and lost the game by 8 runs and with top contributions from K Sanga who made 60 runs in 55 balls with 5 4’s and 0 sixes at the strike rate of 109 runs in 100 balls.

Pakistan won the match by 9 runs and series stands at 4-2 in favor of Sri Lanka with 1 more game to play.
