My Favorite cricket match **Vol. 6 **

Sixth in my list of my Favorite cricket match is a tri-series played between India, Australia and Zimbabwe. This match is between India and Zimbabwe and played at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, Australia on 14^th Jan, 2004.

Zimbabwe has won the toss and have decided to bat first, So India will have to bowl first, As India lost the first match against Australia, So India is required to win this match with Good margin. Zimbabwe 11 looks like this: Tatenda Taibu (wk), Stuart Matsikenyeri, Vusi Sibanda, Mark Vermeulen, Ray Price, Grant Flower, Heath Streak (c), Stuart Carlisle, Andy Blignaut, Douglas Hondo, Sean Ervine

And Indian team 11 looks like: Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid (wk), VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly (c), Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Anil Kumble,Ajit Agarkar, Hemang Badani

As expected Zimbabwe did not batted well and India bowled well to have Zimbabwe with lesser total of 208 with the loss of 6 wickets in allotted 50 over’s with unbeaten knock by Heath Streak of 59 runs in 68 balls with 4 fours at strike rate of 87 and Sean ervine made 48 runs in 33 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes with strike rate of 145.

India batted well and got the target of 209 in 37.4 over’s with 74 balls still remaining with the contributions of Virender Sehwag who made 90 runs in 102 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes at the strike rate of 88 and Sachin Tendulkar who made 44 runs in 59 balls with 6 fours and strike rate of 74. Saurav ganguly also made quick fire 32 runs in 26 balls with 4 fours and 1 six at the strike rate of 123.

Virender Sehwag was the Man of the Match for his super knock of 90 runs in 102 balls and he was the pillar in many of India’s victories as he bats quick and also helps other batsmen to play along with him and also hit big sixes as well.
