India was scheduled to play a 7 Match ONE DAY International series in New Zealand in 2009. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as they are ranked at 2 and 5. The 3rd ONE DAY international match was to be played on McLean Park, Napier, New Zealand. India holds the upper hand as they are more balanced team and playing very well as well.

India batted well and was able to post total of 250 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 7 wickets and with top scores of G Gambhir who made 65 runs in 50 balls with 2 4’s and 2 six at the strike rate of 130 runs in 100 balls and Sachin T who made 60 runs in 50 balls with 9 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 120 runs in 100 balls.

New Zealand was needed to score 251 runs in 50 over’s to win this match.

India batted well but was unable to chase the target of 251 runs and was only able to make 225 runs in 49.4 over’s at the loss of 10 wickets and lost the game by 25 runs and with top contributions from B Mcculum who made 70 runs in 50 balls with 5 4’s and 2 sixes at the strike rate of 140 runs in 100 balls.

India won the match by 25 runs and series stands at 3-0 in favor of India with 4 more games to play.
