England beat South Africa in 2nd ODI match in Bilateral series

England was scheduled to play a 5 Match One Day International Series in South Africa in 2016. This series was important as both teams were preparing for the T 20 World Cup to be played later in India in 2016. The 2nd One Day International Match was to be played on St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth, South Africa on 6th Feb, 2016.  1St One Day international match was won by England.

South Africa started very well and played aggressively but were not able to capitalize on good start and set total of 262 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 7 wickets and top score by Skipper Ab De villiers who made unbeaten 73 runs in 91 balls with 4 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 80 runs in 100 balls.

And J P Duminy who made 47 runs in 66 balls with 2 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 71 runs in 100 balls.

England was needed to score 263 runs in 50 over’s to won this 2nd One Day International Match and take lead of 2-0 with 3 more games to play.

England batted well and chases total of 263 runs in 46.2 over’s at the loss of 5 wickets and top scored by A hales who made 99 runs in 124 balls with 8 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 79 runs in 100 balls J buttler who made unbeaten 48 runs in 28 balls with 6 4’s and 3 six at the strike rate of 171 runs in 100 balls.

England won the match and take lead of 2-0 in series.
