Can we predict a future where there will be no hard cash ?

Yes we can ! (We miss you Barack Obama). According to me all transactions in the future can be digitized. Be it for buying goods, or obtaining services. Although many of us in India and in other countries even now regularly use digital transactions like e-wallet, Net banking, ATM card Swipe. Its still a far cry from completely abandoning hard cash right now. I understood that during the demonetization drive in our country. But we really need to understand that we can do much better with digitized transaction than handling hard cash in future. We cut billions of trees every year just to get the notes printed thus causing our environment deteriorate every year.In addition to this, what’s the cost of printing notes, it again runs down to billions.Just wonder how government can use this funds for better use for the welfare of the society rather than just printing a piece of paper. There will be more transparency in the system with digitized transactions and there will be absolutely no case of counterfeit notes in each country.

Benefits for the citizen of the country
Exchanging the notes is a big problem for each citizen. And especially if you go with 2000 rupee note, which is recently introduced in India, you can do absolutely nothing with it unless the amount you buy is closer to the denomination you pay. With digitized transactions, its just absolutely easy to pay, without fuss. I will take example of myself. Every month i used to pay a service provider Rs.12584 exactly. Just wonder how difficult is to reach that amount with hard cash. I used to literally pursuit the coins and 10 rupee notes to reach the correct figure. After five months, i took a stand to end this problem and pay it through net banking. It was so flawless and easy to do it. In fact, only after this episode i started using digitized transactions more and more.

I agree its not possible in immediate future to live without hard cash, as the rural pocket, uneducated people still relies on hard cash. But in next 20-30 years i feel there is every chance in the world that every country uses digital transactions.Nothing is impossible if we take a step forward in right direction. We all need to join hands and start using digital transactions wherever it is possible forthwith.
