Border- Gavaskar Trophy 1st Test Match ( 2nd Innings)

Australia made total of 260 runs in their 1^st innings with the brilliance of M Stark for his later order hitting and gave a 50 runs cushion to Australia against India.

India started the 1^st Innings with M Vijay and K L Rahul and Australia started bowling with M Stark and Spinner S O kefee. India started so poorly and lost its 1^st wicket on the team score of only 26 runs in the form of M Vijay and kept losing wickets at regular intervals in the 1^st innings and was only able to make 105 runs in 40.1 over’s at the loss of total 10 wickets with the contribution of K L Rahul who made and top scored with 64 runs in 97 balls with 10 fours and 1 six at the strike rate of 66 runs in 100 balls faced.

India conceded lead of 155 runs which is a lot more than they would have liked and looking at the pitch conditions this lead is like 350 runs and India is now almost out of the game.

For Australia the Spin Inclusion S O kefee was the pick of the bowler who took 6 wickets by only conceding 35 runs in his 13.1 over’s and Pace Bowler M Stark took 2 wickets by conceding just 38 runs in his 9 over’s. Other 2 wickets were shared by Josh H and Nathan L who also bowled very well.

Writers Analysis: India’s poor batting and Australia’s great bowling by both Spinners and pace bowlers resulted in India’s worst possible condition in this match and Innings. Now India needs to bowl very well to out the Aussie team cheaply in their second innings for any chance to win this match as draw is a no possibility in this match. The lead of 155 runs will be most decisive in this match and the contribution of M Stark 61 is now depicting in this lead as well.
