Getting to work on time has become a problem of so many workers. Some get to the office late and get query which leads to suspension or outright sack. I want to bring this six step method to guide workers to be in the office before 7:30am during working days. These steps are,
1. Setting the Alarm clock: It is important that every worker should have an alarm clock or a handset. These contain alarm for waking workers to their responsibilities. Nowadays, handsets contain alarm, which is set to keep a user alert. It is surprising that some workers purchase handsets, use them only for calls but do not use the alarms. I advice that workers should set their alarm before going to bed.
2. Rising and Devotion:5am – 5:20am
It is important for workers to rise from bed once the alarm sounds. The practice of “let me sleep a little more “should be stopped. You know once the eye is closed again after the alarm, the next is lateness. It is expected that rising from the bed gets someone into devotion. A worker should pray committing the day’s activities to God. Those who do not pray should expect whatever comes their way because all power belongs to God.
3. Preparation of Breakfast:5:20am – 6:00am
It is possible for workers to prepare their breakfast instead of going to work without food in the morning. Light food is good for breakfast. A worker can still cook in the previous evening only to warm and eat the food as breakfast the following day. The idea of eating as early as a worker gets to the office at a make shift restaurant or roving food vendors should be discarded.Sometimes,the mode of preparing those food items are not hygienic. It is good that a worker eats what he or she has prepared.
4. Bathing and Dressing:6:00am – 6:20am
Bathing should take a little time. The water for bathing should be ready the night before the day of work. It is expected that workers should have prepared their clothes the previous night. It should take just twenty minutes to bathe and dress up for work. Painting or make ups as it is usually called and putting on of many styles are good, but time does not permit especially the females to express themselves fully.
5. Breakfast:6:21am – 6:35am
It is good to have breakfast before leaving the house. This is because of any eventuality on the road. We do not pray for accidents, but sometimes it occurs. Treatment can at times be administered to a person who had taken breakfast before leaving the house. It should take a worker just fifteen minutes to eat.
6. Departure to Office:6:36am – 7:30
It is expected that a worker leaves home and makes the office within one hour. If there is an official vehicle, that’s okay, but if the available is the public transport, then the worker should hasten to the park and get going. Those who leave the house early get promotions for punctuality and those who are late comers, attract queries and at times they are sacked.

This is one of the problems even in these days of the innovative transportation system. Though there is a rapid development in the mode of transportation it is becoming hard to catch to duty on time. Why? This is all because of ineffective planning. One has to be prompt in his timing. One should allocate time for each activity the time one gets up from the bed. The countdown beings attending phone calls to getting ready for the office. Sometimes, the routine demands skipping some activities which should be accepted and invited without any rigidity. Be flexible always. This is the best policy I generally use.
But, one thing is thing too much of flexibility may spoil the very personality itself and if it is continued we will remain NO WHERE.
