Jesus needs disciples who commit themselves once and for all

Jesus brings the living water, which is God’s gift to us, his children, the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit whom we receive, helps us worship God according to the truth.

God does not need the words of our prayer, but looks for simplicity, beauty and nobility in our spirit. The Spirit of God cannot be communicated except to those who seek the truth and live according to truth in a world of deception.

Each one of us in some way is the Samaritan woman. Those who really seek the truth recognize it when it is presented to them. We must first believe in the messenger of God. Jesus is in our midst, but to be aware of his presence requires faith. He comes to reveal the mystery of God, the mystery of the love of God-Father, Son and Spirit.

God does not expect works on the part of human beings but calls them to faith. Be rid of all that hampers you, of all that prevents you from seeing and believe. Believe that it is he, and he alone who is able to save you.

Physical possession is not the usual way of the devil’s activity in humans. The Devil operates in the moral life of people. Not that the Devil is the cause of every sin and evil that people do. There is also the selfishness of our flesh and the lure of the false promise of the world but the Devil, as enemy of God’s kingdom, is never at rest. The Devil notices at once those who are capable of weakening or destroying his empire.

Jesus shows us how to visit the sick. The care and love of our Christian sisters and brothers attracts God’s favours upon them.

The Good News does not remain mere words but it effects a change. If God puts us on a road in life, this road will lead somehow. Hope is courage and endurance. Good and bad will be mixed till the end of the world. Good and evil will always be found together in persons and institutions. God respects people and He is patient.

Believers are not to separate themselves from those who do not believe, for they are the yeast of the world. We must choose between sewing and being served, sacrificing ourselves for others or taking advantage of them.

This is the time to be reconciled with family members and neighbours, to let go of resentments. Since we are sinners, our salvation is worked out through suffering and through the cross.

Our desires and our prayers are powerful because we have come to the center from which God directs the forces saving humankind, because we work for the eternity, our names are already written in heaven.

To evangelize does not mean to try to sell the Gospel but rather to prove its power to heal people from their demons. We must stop being envious of famous people, kings and prophets of the past.

To pray is to take the time to listen, to meditate in silence on the work of God, it is to slow our desires, so as to pay attention only to God, secretly present, and slip into his will.

God relies on the poor and the marginalized to maintain the aspiration toward peace and justice in the world, to awaken the conscience of those good people who are too comfortable.

Social sector- For reforming the nation

Social sectors are the ones like NGO’s which helps the ones that really needs the help the needy. This sector has now many youngsters who want to create a change and try something differently in their life. This sector is filled with people who doesn’t want to go to a regular college and be an engineer or a doctor. This is more than that. There are reputed colleges and fellowship programs available for those who want to pursue their dream as a social worker. We should be lucky because we have a family who is always there for you to take care of you, to worry about you, to feed you when you are hungry, to get you good and even costly clothes and the clothes that you like, give you education, a warm and cozy room with all the gadgets etc. You should really be thankful for that. There are still millions who were very poor not even afford a single meal a day, wearing shabby clothes, sleeping on platforms, eating from the dustbin, drinking water from sewage living in a dumpster. Not having money or anything to buy them the basic necessities. Imagine living one day like that. Can you even imagine? Whose fault is that they are living like that when we can sleep in an air conditioned room in our houses. People, it’s time to think and start acting. Even though you don’t pursue a degree from the social work institutes or universities you may still follow the fellowship programs available in your place. It melts my heart whenever I see a small child begging in the busy roads of traffic selling some pens, toys, sun shield. Sometimes even they beg for money for food.

One day me and my friend while returning from college saw a mother and child who were begging for money in the traffic. We felt really sad for the girl as she was around six to seven years old. So, we went and asked her mother why she is allowing her little child to beg in the signal. Her response was really shocking. We asked about here whereabouts and why is she living in the streets. She said she was abandoned by her husband as he is a bad drinker and he will beat her and her child daily. So she said she had left the house avoiding her husband and started to live on the road. She would still send her baby girl to school on weekdays and she would sell some things like pens, caps, earbuds etc and on weekends her baby girl would join her. She had a baby boy who was around a year sitting with hungry eyes on his mother’s lap. We were so moved by the lady’s story we wanted to help her but we couldn’t. Why because is our parents didn’t like this kind of activities. When we go and said that they said there are organizations to look for them so you just focus on your life. So, question yourself, who are the people behind these organizations? It is people like you and me who strive to bring a change in this society, helping the abused, protecting children and the needy voluntarily without compulsion. But even if you are going to pursue your career as a social worker then go and join in a reputed university.

Some of the reputed institutes include-

# TATA Institute of Social Sciences

# Jamia Milia Islamia

# Delhi School of Social work

# Madras School of Social Work

# Nirmala Niketan

Some popular social sector fellowships

# Teach for India Fellowship

# William J Clinton Fellowship

# Gandhi Fellowship

# Azim Premji Foundation Fellowship

# Prime Minister’s Rural Fellowship

Thank you for reading friends. Please share this with your friends if any of them is interested in doing social work. Thank you.

Another Sad Day For An Environmentalist
May 4, 2017
1

This is another sad day for us, environmentalists and people who just care for the poor and the environment.

It is sad because a leader who gives us some ray of hope with regards to protecting our natural resources and its people, was rejected to lead by some lawmakers in or country.

She was appointed by the country’s President, because of her record of caring for the environment through a non-government organization composed of individuals who like her, aimed to preserve our natural resources.

Her paramount aim, as she said during the deliberations, is to help marginalized people, and for them to benefit first for the available resources. She only wanted people to benefit for what mother earth has to offer; instead of only a few who gain so much from mining, etc.

She had presented to the lawmakers the massive destruction of our natural resources, like the abandoned open-pit mines. Some of it, as shown in her documentary, had mine tailings left on those big and deep ponds. The tailings flow to the tributary rivers, and thus killed those rivers too!

Some people did not know that in one way or another, we are all affected by such improper mining activities. They do not know that the tailings that contain toxic chemicals like mercury can flow into the sea and affect the fish there. Once the fish got contaminated with mercury, people who will consume that fish will also be affected.

She had presented a video of people who were affected by mine tailings; she even presented them in person, but we do not know why those lawmakers rejected her appointment into office.

I do not know the person I am mentioning here personally, but I knew her so many years ago for her works to save the rivers, plant trees, etc. to help protect the environment.

May she continue her advocacy for the environment even though she was not given a chance to do it through a public office.

We know she has the heart for the environment, and for the poor and indigenous people in our country.

Am so sad. I could do nothing but write that sadness here.

Say Thanks to Have More Blessings

It is basic for a person to say “thank you” or express a sense of gratitude to a person who had done something good to him; one who offered his time, effort, money or resources to make the life of another easy.

A person could be so selfless; he could offer all or part of what he got to make another person live comfortably like him. It is aimed at making the dependent person see the need to make efforts too to improve himself. If he expresses gratitude to that person helping him, he will get more blessings because that person will realise that he is worthy to be helped.

Biting the Hand That Feeds

There is a saying that you should not bite the hand that feeds you! Or do not hurt the person that is helping you. One such incident related to this was when a person who had been helping a young girl with her studies posted bad words about that person in her Facebook post. The “donor” read what she said and cut all her support to the girl. So she lost her “blessings!”

It is so inspiring to help a person who strives so much by himself; not merely waiting for help, but he is so patient, doing all things to make both ends meet. There are so many stories like this on television documentary shows, and so many well-off persons may had extended or shared some money to help those poor people. It is better to directly give them the monetary assistance for their immediate needs. They can feel that there are still good people who are willing to help them.

In return, they must show gratitude. One way is by continuously improving their lives on their own, find ways to survive decently, and impart good virtues to their children. The mere act of saying “thank you” is one of the good attitudes that should not be lost even in these modern times. It brings positivity and more willingness of people to help those in need.

Some Poor Do Not Know How to Improve Themselves; Rely on Doleouts or Blame the Government
April 23, 2017

Pardon me for feeling like this; it does not mean I degrade the poor, but I want to clear things, to help. One can not be totally poor if he will try his best to improve his life.

One way is finding a way to earn something; one can start from scratch. By scratch I mean, offering your greatest asset, your human power to do things you are capable of like cleaning the house, doing the laundry, or using whatever knowledge or expertise you have.

Another is doing some small business, even without a capital. Some people succeed by just starting a business on a consignment basis. They will get the products they will sell from a supplier, then on the agreed date, they will remit whatever goods they had sold. There is an agreement set by the supplier on the amount to be remitted. Of course, the reseller of the goods can set his own price, but it should be a reasonable one so he can have many buyers or loyal clients.

From this strategy, if you have a good business sense, you can earn something for your family’s needs, and can have some extra savings which in the future will become your own capital for another business.

For women or stay-at-home moms, selling cosmetics is one of the easiest form of a small business. There are cosmetic companies who offer many benefits for their resellers. Moms can use their social circle, mothers who are like them too, and they can even recruit them as resellers. They can use the social media like Facebook in creating a page to advertise their products.

Instead of wasting away the time the whole day chatting online and offline, they can turn the hours into productive endeavors. They can plant ornamental plants or vegetables if they have available space in their yards. They can sell them later on, and have their own supply of vegetables which is often raised organically. It is healthy and economical too. They do not have to go to the grocery or market to buy vegetables for the family.

Examples of vegetables that grow so easily depending on the climate are moringa and sweet potato. Their leaves are nutritious and are easy to cook. Just steam and put some soy sauce or lemon or calamansi as dip, and the family can have a nutritious meal.

I wonder why some poor families complain that they have nothing to eat. They can go to the market and offer to help the vendors there; and later, they can go home with some fish or vegetables for the family. One only needs to be creative or imaginative in cooking a healthy but cheap meals, like a combination of green leafy vegetables like moringa or water parsley (kangkong) and a small amount of anchovies. Just add a tomato, a pinch of salt and garlic, and it’s done! No one can go hungry or malnourished if they will think of ways to earn a little and cook cheap nutritious food.

Do Not Depend on Doleouts

Do not wait for the government to give you food. A poor person can have self confidence and regard himself highly if he is capable of uplifting his life in whatever capacity he can think of.

Some people blame the government for being poor. But if they strived hard to attain education, they will not be poor forever. They can work in a company and spend for all his needs. The government is there to assist people who like to help themselves.

It is just a give and take process. And the government should do its part in spending people’s money (taxes) to provide social services for the poor. One of such projects is providing them interest-free capital for starting a small business. It is not doleout because it is a loan which should be returned at a given time, so it can be allotted for other people who also need it.

So being poor and remaining poor depends on a person’s determination and ability to uplift his life.

How Society Causes You To Change
April 17, 2017
1

I just took a bag of clothes which I can no longer wear due to age and put them into the trash.   When I was a little kid, we used to put them into a box and give them to a charity.

When I was older I did the same.

I’d wash them, put them into a bag and carry them to a charity.

My best friend was very wealthy and had a lot of clothes.   She could not wear the same thing to one wedding as she did to another, so might have this dress made, wear it to that wedding, then, to a cocktail party with a different population, and maybe to another function, but then, would give it away.

She gave away a lot of clothing to the Church she belonged to.

One day, she was standing unseen at a rummage sale, for most of her stuff was in perfect condition, and one could buy one of her silk dresses for pocket change.    There were people there, passing remarks about; “old bruk”, (a Jamaican term for second hand things)  and saying how they wouldn’t wear something she had worn in far more offensive language than I am using.

That was the last time she ever gave away her clothes.   She began to burn them in the backyard.

A man who had contacts with a church in America used to get barrels of clothing shipped to his to give to the poor.  The poor didn’t want them.   Why should they have to wear second hand things?   I spoke to a politician who repeated the sentiment.

It was quite shocking to me.   Here were clothes, wearable clothing, good clothing, but the poor didn’t want them.  Considered it near an insult.

The man had to park his car on the street because his garage was full of these barrels.

I took one and carried it to a particular yard I knew and gave it to them as if I had come to me.   They went through it and found many items that they didn’t know where donated, they thought I had people in America who went shopping to buy things for them.

I told the man; “When you go to work tomorrow, ‘forget’ to lock the garage, leave the grill a little open. People will come and steal the barrels.”

He was uncertain, but did as I asked, so that evening when he came home, he could park in his garage, because all the barrels had been stolen.

This is the level of my society today.

For me to take my clothes to a charity would only result in embarrassment.  Instead, I put them in a plastic bag into the trash.

There are people at the dump who will go through the trash to see if there is anything they can ‘steal’.  This is how it is today.

Instead of giving away my clothes, I toss them into the trash.   If they are taken and dumped into a landfill and not found by the poor, okay.  If they are found, good.

Simply put, I can’t give away my clothing to people who don’t want them.

There is a solution to every problem
March 25, 2017

I am an optimistic and I have my full belief in the saying that the world will change and there is nothing wrong if someone is on support from the government even if he is getting old age pension for longer than he served in his job. Actually look at the problem for this angle that if they have problems in supporting themselves then we have no right to call them parasite on this society.

I won’t call them so and not to all of them, no way. I am sure most of them are working hard to better themselves. But my suggestion is not everyone’s cup of tea but thinks what happens in next 40-50 years’ time when there will be water and food in shortage, we might not want to be spending money on housing and feeding people not working and earning for them.

The problem gets bigger when we see not all people on ‘support’ are incapable or come in the group they have manipulated to stay in. What I mean is we can learn from history and stop being too generous. The world can change, people can change even policies can change for the betterment of future of the society but we need strong willpower to that. And trust me we can’t leave this matter to our vote hungry politicians.

Hope I am not being too over-judgmental, maybe there are larger problems in the world that I cannot see properly. Also I am in no mood to be called a bully besides if I stop bullying each other the future generation will follow our examples. Dear politicians grow up now and see the world is looking at you. Stop playing the role of Santa Clause and do something for everyone who has voted you into power. But I know I am making this appeal to deaf and dumb, they will do anything for vote catching.

The world is divided in two parts
March 24, 2017
1

I am really so confused at this point whether it’s due to increased earning capacity of a particular group of society that has become the reason of imbalance of global economy.  I believe so because on one hand people have nothing to eat and on the other hand people are being suggested how to spend their spare money.

I have started to believe that money is the real cause behind all the problems the world is facing today or should I say the entire world has been converted into a market. People are willfully living a stressful life because they have been made to believe that they need more money than what they already have and they are renaming a blind race to achieve more. There is no dearth of money but human has lost the value of peace in this process.

Probably it is the story of two entirely different worlds. People on each of these are walking on different routes. The one rout is fast and aggressive while the other is too dull having nothing to offer to its travelers. One rout has set the targets of high gains while the other has nothing much to gain but lot of pressure and frustration.

The world looks clearly divided in two different groups of people and the fact that both these groups although linked together but too far apart as far their fate is concerned. There is nothing similar for these two groups having vast differences between them. While the richer group is enjoying benefits of education, health a better lifestyle the poor have to live in substandard conditions.

Aren’t we all aware about the fact of growing difference between rich and the poor which was clear indication in a new report by Oxfam that only the 62 rich billionaires have as much wealth as half of the poor population of this world owns. I am neither a communist nor a believer of any particular political activity but humanity will get my first vote.

Effect of demonetization in india
March 22, 2017
0

The demonetization of a 500 & the 100.

And would cease to be the legal tender from the 9th of Nov, and the whole country was the stunned. And This decision caused sensation in the whole country.

And Social Media was flooded with the messages and the information. And the People started counting trash they had a accumulated for years legally or illegally.

And all Rumours became rife. And Some a tried to invest their dying currency in a gold. And Some contacted their a near and a dear ones in this miserable hour. And few People could get only Rs 4000 of old denomination exchanged with a new one. And a Big queues before the banks and ATMs became order of the day.

And instead of getting a shorter, these queues were getting longer with the every passing day. And The last date for whole process was 30th of December. And The persons could deposit the old cash worth Rs 2.5 lac till the said date.

And the main objective of this move was to curb the black money, corruption & fake money menace. All people but those who were indulged in malpractices welcomed move. The whole opposition shook hand against this move under one pretence or other. And They called this decision draconian law and the wanted the govt to roll back it. Tirades were made to target decision. And the Govt also carried out counter attacks.

And The new currency which replaced the old one is of denomination of 500 and 2000. Though the people faced lot of inconvenience owing to the shortage of funds, and they did not criticize the govt for the move. Even they lauded Modi govt for this big move. And Prime Minister also addressed people many times telling the people that it was a mahayajna and they must offer their own ahuti in it.

Then He further said he was aware the hardships they were suffering and from but he sought only 50 days for setting things right.then He jibed at the chief political leaders who have stashed big amount of money & now joined hand to force govt to take decision back.

And the most interesting thing regarding demonetisation is that people are devising various the unique methods for transforming their black money in to the white one. Some of these methods are as follows.

Depositing money in accounts of their poor relatives & friends.
Enticing people with some percentage of money for exchange. And
Asking their employees to the stand in long queues in front of Banks & ATMs for getting money exchanged.
Hiring labors for some Rupees ranging from Rs 500 to 700 for becoming part of long queues in front of banks.ATMs.
Converting black money in to the gold.
Paying few months salaries in advance.

And Paying back loans forcibly.
Using their influence links with bank employees and so on.
Impact of Demonetization on the Indian Society Economy

And We shall see a great impact of this move of Central Govt on Indian Society & the Economy. And The first impact shall be that people will have the lower expenditure power. With that they will not be the able to purchase luxurious things.

And There shall be no ostentatious expenditures on marriages & the other ceremonies. And So society will grow lesser materialistic & people more prudent. And With fake money destroyed, and Indian economy will see big boom and so far booming real estate sector shall fall on ground.

The things shall be a cheaper. And the Indian Currency shall get respect at the international market. And There shall be great check on terro related funding & there fore on terrorist activities. Corruption shall be down to great extent as people will stop tendency of accumulating money using wrong means.

It will abridge gap between haves and the have nots. However, there may be some difficulties for couple of months. But this inconvenience shall be temporary and for short term.

Demonetization has big impact on Indian market & citizens like you and me. People flocked banks to changed their currency & stood in long lines in front of bank & ATMs for hours to draw their money. Surely, we have problems in but we also need to understand importance of it. Just imagine if it was told month ago, then all black money launderers could have managed their to money in this or that form. That is why it has to be a sudden & surprise act.

India is not only country which used demonetization to deal with corruption, inflation or tax evasion. In Europe, when they introduced Euro as European Union currency old currency was demonetized. And In 2015, Zimbabwe demonetized their currency to the eradicate their hyperinflation.

Demonetization can also used to promote Cashless Economy. As PM Modi aptly said, we might not a completely cashless society soon but at least we can be.Less Cash Economy.Under cashless economy, people prefer pay for goods & services in digital format than cash. Tough we Indians love to the handle cash, such event was necessary to change mindset of people who loves cash.

On another side, we can see positive reaction from all over world. Other countries who wants to invest in the India thinks that Indian government trying to solve Indian red tape & corruption. Ans It will draw more foreign investment in country which will help Indian government to build better India.

Now after 3 months after demonetizetion life is back on the roll.Nothing has changed for a common man.Even petrol and diesel rate are going high.

Cooking gas cylinders price also got gain last week.Nothing has changed for a commener.

Few old age people lost their life beacuse of Demonetization and marriages got cancelled or delayed.

People was sleeping infront of atm. After standing in que for four to five days they were coming home with 2000 rupees. And some of them were coming with empty hand.

Working womans were not going to work because they have stand in que.If they were not stand in que they have sleep without food.
