PEEUSH TRIKHA wrote a new post, What is your favorite pastime- Movies or Books? 8 years ago

Almost all of us are struggling in various spheres of life everyday- whether in our careers, Business, shops, studies or in our relationships. We succeed, we fail, we learn, we re-try.
At times, we feel like […]

    • I would prefer a book anytime over a TV program or movie. I like TV and movies but in small doses and they have to be exceptionally good with a strong plot, great cast and good story.

    • I get time only on Sunday. I will be busy various activities. There is no place for pastime as such. This is because I always want to keep myself fit and energetic both physically and mentally. Sunday is the only time I may feel bored. So for that, I planned a unique work created for myself.

I move out on my bike. If my friend comes in time I will take him along with me. I go different places in the city and sometimes to the outskirts take different pictures and videos and I upload them all on Youtube which pays for such videos. The name of the site is not recollecting now. We can post any material. If anybody clicks on that we get some small amount. Very interesting site. If I move out of the city it will be in the evening I return home. So I have not faced any problem in spending time in a useful manner. I hardly do any reading. But during nights that too once in a blue moon I watch some movies on Youtube. Only for news sake I watch TV.

    • It is an interesting topic how to pass time when you have nothing to do at home a very serious question for all of us. Many people think may ways to pass time reading books or watch plays or movies on internet or YVs. But is a critical question.

I pass my times reading poems and sonnets and odes written by classical writers in the past when I was a child. It is very interesting or I read the Holy Books.

But a new understanding of how the brain processes time could one day allow scientists to tweak an individual’s sense of timing.

New research suggests timekeeping in the brain is decentralised, with different neural circuits having their own timing mechanisms for specific activities.

Not only does it raise the possibility of artificially manipulating time perceptions, but the finding could also explain why our sense of time changes in different conditions – such as when we are having fun or are under stress.

When an individual is under stress, for example, it affects that amount of chemicals such as adrenalin in the brain. Scientists know adrenalin affects the rate of activity of neuronal activity.

Everybody can the way how to pass time is personal problem not of other people.

I have not seen that movie, but I don’t have a doubt that the audience are amused. I bet. From the title itself, it may not imply real monster that attack people, it might be all about something that imposes strong discipline. It might be a culture-based movie. I hope I am right on my nice guess,LOL.

    • A friend recommended this a few years back. I forgot about it. Now that you’re mentioning it again, maybe I’ll look into it for some humor and fun. 🙂

PEEUSH TRIKHA wrote a new post, Increasing incidence of Vitamin D and B12 deficiency in people 8 years ago

India is a country where most of the areas, excluding some high mountainous regions like in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and some parts of North-Eastern states have abundant sunshine, […]

    • That is right, why not make some outdoor activities that can help us to vitamin D and B12. Besides, this is who we are, to be outside and not just sitting in the chair and facing the internet or watching movie. We have muscles to use them under the sunlight. This makes us stronger and better body. Vitamin D and B12 helps us a lot to be more active and lively.

    • cely replied 8 years ago

These vitamins mentioned here are so vital for the human body. We need to to supply our body with the right vitamins through vegetables and fruits.

    • Yes. This is correct to say that the deficiency of vitamin-D is more in the rich. But this deficiency is found in lower and upper middle classes also. This is only due to non-exposure to the sunlight. As it is rightly said, rich people, spend most of their time sitting in Air Conditioned Rooms and the ladies who go out apply sunscreen lotions to minimize the exposure of their skin to the sunlight. This may also be observed that most of the psoriasis cases are reported to be both from the rich and upper middle classes. It is always suggested that they should go out and take their bath in the sea shore or on the river basin. They should take sun bath at least for 20 minutes. The Vitamin B12 can not be produced by the body. So it has to be obtained from certain animal foods. The reasons for the deficiency of vitamin B12 is due to excessive alcohol consumption, thinning of the lower layer of the stomach, immune system disorders, long usage of acid reducing drugs.
The overall beneficiaries are no doubt the Doctors and the Pharmacists. Why should we approach these people time and again wasting our money.? Sometimes approaching the Doctors nowadays is leading to unnecessary complications also. There are no doctors who are dedicated to their profession and are playing with the lives of people for the sake of money. The recent kidney racket in multinational hospitals in Chennai is an eye opener. People should learn and follow the guidelines on health properly in the interest of their own life.

    • I think this is a “fad” unless you are suffering form something. I am skeptic to believe on the medical reports as well. The reason for this is that earlier diabetes level which was considered normal is now considered high (100 +)

    • First this is all about monsters and any kind of supernatural .After going to a new small town, the teenager boy Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door.

But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town,

it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, Hannah, and Zach’s friend Champ (Ryan Lee) they all do their best to back all of the monsters in the book.

Goosebumps the film is made for the kids, this isn’t the type of film that is trying to bridge the age gap at being universally beloved. Lucky for the film, its makers know their market and the children in my theater loved it, and for this kid at heart, we liked it too.

One of the smartest decisions the filmmakers made in making an R.L. Stine film adaptation of the beloved book series Goosebumps was casting Jack Black as the token ‘adult’ in the film. While we know Black has aged in real life, he is one of the few men in Hollywood who hasn’t lost his wonder, and that transcends the big screen. He may put on a funny accent for the role of R.L. Stine but he has the right sentiment and that is obvious to audience members.

The rest of the cast is equally wholesome and approachable, with each of the three teens (Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush and Ryan Lee) being equally effective in their roles. The characters they portray aren’t anything extraordinary or new, but they are archetypes we know and enjoy. The stand out among the three would be Odeya Rush and scenes where the kids are interacting with one another.

Goosebumps does one thing that we wish would’ve been a bit bolder, and that is stray away from the horror and air more on the side of family adventure comedy. It’s like Jumanji with zombies instead of a stampede of African wildlife. And that is also where it loses points for originality, as adult film goers will see the same plot line in a different skin, which is a tad disappointing for something as creative as the Goosebumps book series.

The Game of Cricket and its various forms
The Game of Cricket as we know today was not the same 10 years ago. It was even different 20 years ago, and even vastly different 30 years or prior to that.

    Yes […]

    • Cricket is a game that I used to play me and my friends back in the days but we called it something totaly different but played th3 same way. We used yo call it rounders. It used to be very interesting back then, but as we grew up th3 interest started fading away. Right now I hardly sit down to even watch a game because I find it boring.

    • Now with all new formats like T20 and leagues tournaments Cricket has become now aggresive sports. In past with test cricket there was slow game. But now it has become more entertaining game. Now there is no more slow cricket like it used to be in past. I am not saying that past cricket wasn’t good, it was having its own class. But now lots of things has been changed in compare to past.

    • The game of cricket is these getting popularity among the youths all over the world. In the days gone by people enjoyed the test , after this one day international and now the new format T20 appears in the surface of cricket world and got popularity all over the world.

Twenty20. … Twenty20 cricket, sometimes written Twenty-20, and often abbreviated to T20, is a short form of cricket. At the professional level, it was originally introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition in England and Wales.

T20 Cricket was formally introduced to the world in 2003, when ECB launched the Twenty20 Cup, along with slogan “I don’t like cricket, I love it”. The same year, the first Twenty20 cricket tournament was organized in England, with various county cricket teams.

The tournament proved to be a success, with thousands of spectators filling the England’s cricket stadiums, a first in many decades. Soon, other cricket playing nations of the world also started to take notice of Twenty20 cricket.

Soon after the first Twenty20 cricket tournament was played and became overnight success, South Africa, Australia and the West Indies also organized similar tournaments, which again attracted huge cricket audience.

In the year 2005, history was created, when Twenty20 cricket made its international debut, with the first T20 International being played, between Australia and New Zealand at Eden Park. As the popularity of the new form of cricket started rising, surpassing that of even ODIs and Tests, the game was taken more seriously
