Morley Safer died today at the age of 84, days after announcing his retirement.  He was a t.v. journalist for CBS and was later a member of the news show “60 Minutes.”   He was on “60 Minutes” for 46  years!!

He must have witnessed a lot of historical events in his life and probably reported on a lot of them as well.  May he R.I.P.

Whatever happened to the sanctity of life?  We always here of stories where some stranger maybe even a friend that kills some one for what ever reason.  For a while now, there seems a trend with mothers killing t […]

    • I’ve had four children – one of which was by emergency C-section because it was determined on the day I was to be induced that she was breech, and one of which was born in a taxi because we just barely made it to hospital by the time he was crowning. In all four instances I was a married woman over 30, with a supportive husband and extended family who welcomed the child.

I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like to give birth in a bathroom, not having even realized there was a pregnancy. I can’t imagine the fear of being a pregnant teen whose parents would potentially kick her out of the house, or maybe even resort to violence. I can’t imagine how disorienting it must be for a teenager to cope with post-partum hormones – adolescent hormones are bad enough!

It’s good that in many places a woman can leave a baby at a hospital or fire station, no questions asked. But that may not be the case everywhere, and especially teen girls may not be aware of what to do.

If we are a throwaway society, it’s in part because we allow young people to be deprived of access to comprehensive sex education and affordable contraceptives. It’s also because we turn a blind eye when a teen is living in a volatile situation. And because we have an epidemic of mentally ill people who aren’t getting adequate support.

If we could resolve some of these issues, we’d see a lot less of the issues you were writing about.

    • I wonder why they want to carry it to full term in the first place.
if they do not want the baby, they would have gone for abortion long ago.
Surely they cannot hide their pregnancy for long, and all their friends, neighbors will know that they have a baby.

    • It’s a sad scenario where you find mother’s throwing away their kids. It’s something that is going on all over the world. I always ask this question whenever I hear of a story where a child has been born, then wrapped up in a garbage bag and thrown by the road side or in abush somewhere, why do you be a to carry the baby to term then damp them? Does that make any sense to you at all? If you really did not want a child why did you go ahead and misbehave? Why didn’t you use some protective method? If you are agrown up you know very well that when you indulge in intimacy there are consequences why not take precaution? This really pisses me of. When you hear or read about someone who has been trying for a child for the longest time and can’t have one yet there is another person who is planning to damp a child somewhere it’s very unfair. I find this very saddening. There was a time when this habit was so rampant in our country where a day could not pass without someone reporting at police head quarters withvs child that had been thrown. So action had to be taken and the culprits jailed. I often say if you get prevent by “mistake” like some would say, keep that child then when you give birth and can’t take care of it, simply take it to the nearest children’s home and let the baby live his or her life according to God’s will. There are lots of couples who can’t have kids, give them that opportunity to have one and have the boy to bring parents if you don’t want too.

    • How can anyone have a heart to throw away a docile, innocent new born baby who is completely dependent on you. This is a big question which keeps hovering my mind.

There are many people who are desperate for babies and cab pay any price for parenthood. ASK THEM AND THEN YOU WILL REALIZE THE TRUE WORTH OF PARENTHOOD.

    • You are fortunately to have many water sources in your country.
For us here, since the founding of the country, and in fact, before the founding of the country, we have to buy water from our neighboring country!
Hard to imagine that the survival of our country depends on our neighbor to sell us water.

    • Never been to your country but have always heard good things about it. Met people from there. I’m glad the US and Canada are good neighbors. 🙂

    • Canada is located in the North of the universe and now I tell you an interesting thing no one deny it keeping keeping in mind the history and law of nature that are working in the universe since its creation in heaven and on earth.

Keep in mind the nest super power will be Canada after the downfall of USA because Canada is in the North of USA. According to law of nature North is always winner if it fights with East and West but if its fights with South the war will be equal.

North may not be conquered by any means or by any law on earth. It is called North-South Mystery.

Those nations who live in the North may not be conquered by any powerful country. I will recite the example of North Korea was attacked by USA forces but she got defeat badly.

History is replete with the power of North an the all direction. The Pyramids of Egypt are made on the North Pole knowingly because the wise men knew the mystery of North.

The storm and tornadoes and other natural catastrophes appear from the North Pole not from the Sooth Pole.

China and Russia know these secrets and therefore their seats in UNO in the north and it is the law of nature that the business, the the king chair, the nation, the war….always will the North Pole people. yea, a few know this secret on earth.

magnetic rays travel from North to South Pole, think, why? You will find more mystery on earth about the North and South Pole Mysteries. Canada is in the North will surpass the whole world one day in business, war, economics, spirituality, science, politics….in all field of life. The whole world see that is is areal truth without any doubt.

@kaka135, thank-you for the prayers!  I don’t mind the travel, but to make it really worth more time I need more clients.  Yes, having the clients here would make it a lot handier, but sometimes we have to make compromises.  Once my name gets out and I do start working hopefully more people will need my service!!

@kaka135 Our parks were always close to deserted, or so packed it was beyond chaos. Never an in-between. I think that’s a good part of why my kids never really made friends in the neighbourhood. That, and they had trouble understanding French. Most of our neighbours spoke no English, so the kids couldn’t understand each other.

@kaka135 I used to think I disliked competition, because of course I associated it with doing things that were difficult for me. I used to dislike being compared to someone who always seemed to be perfect (the teacher’s pet) and even more than that, I disliked it when my friend’s mother held me up as an example for her to follow. She was no…[Read more]

@dawnwriter This is an excellent topic for discussion. It’s amazing how much some people feel the need not just to compete, but to demean another or dismiss his accomplishments in order to make themselves feel somehow superior.

One thing I’ve observed is that sometimes the people who are the most likely to scorn competition in others, will be the…[Read more]
