You are absolutely right about this. People usually say that kids who are brought up by their parents are usually very spoilt because of the way the grandparents take care of them. Often they are given everything that they need, they are oftenly given or bought for gifts every now and then even when they don’t need them. They are hardly beaten, even when they make a mistake they are usually just left to go unpunished. Now since parents were told that they need to spend more time with their kids, they have decided the only best way to go about this is get them what they want so that they can get out of my space. How wrong can a parent be. Buying them all they need is not a good way of getting attention to them. Like you said they will never be responsible. This are the kind of kids who lack morals in the home they misbehave even in front of their parents visitors and don’t really care about the damaged they are causing. The same kids are the ones who will stay at their parents home until they are 40 years of age before they move out to be on their own. It’s very unfortunate. Parents really need to stand up for their kids and do what is right for them. Always keeping a child at arms length will not always protect them. Send them out sometimes and test them, see how they would react to situations can they solve them or will they run away. Another thing protecting a child too much could get them in trouble. You will find such children getting engaged in very bad company’s they start to develop bad behavior like smoking, drinking drugs and the like or even start engaging in sexual immorality. Especially the girls. This happens because when the child was let out without the parents after a long time, they feel they have so much freedom to do whatever they want and the result is usually very horrendous. So let go of your kids and let them mingle with others. Once you teach them morals from home they will know what is good and what is bad.
