For me playing with pets work. I also listen to EDM and trance music. Most likely that two alone can stop most of the anxiety that I get. Also the amount of effort it needs for me to get back into the real world requires more effort. So I do sketching. I also read something inspirational. That may slowly helps out too. But from the way things work…[Read more]

Whenever I am feeling depressed, I tell myself i have only a limited amount of time in this world, and i refuse to spend it in misery.
Writing always helps so does a walk, meditation, prayers, crying and some ice cream.
But above all, support must come from within ourselves. Because once we allow depression to overwhelm us it is very difficult…[Read more]

I think journaling is a very good way to understand our feelings better. Sleep has always been good for me. Mindfulness is so important. Being aware of our feelings and having a good support system is wonderful. I have severe depression with panic attacks. I live with my daughter who is bi-polar and her son who has ODD. Not fun at times. Very challenging.

I have been diagnosed with severe depression with panic attacks. I am a retired senior and have found that meditation is one way to sooth myself if I get real bad. This time of year is real bad and some people have S.A.D.D. which is no fun. Trying to think positive is a real issue for me. It’s hard when you are depressed to be positive and see a…[Read more]

@evilelf it really depend on person capability to overcome. Illness will affect work capability but not capability to cope and manage. I know people who are terminally ill of my family, never know people among them more kind and supportive. While one go crazy over headache other blessed can lift mountains living with cancer. Never underestimate.

@Your Seldom You misunderstood what was said. A common cold can affect anyone. That is why I said “some” and not all illnesses. A chronic physical disease such as migraines, back pain, fibromyalgia is just a few that do affect mental illness in a person.
I don’t think that people are influenced by illness same way like animals are. We after all are conscious beings and able to prevail big problems, physical problems like pain, hunger, thirst, cold and excessive heat in better way than any animal.
If what you say is correct this means if person has common cold one also having mental problem.…[Read more]

I wouldn’t say there is much of a difference since most of the time those with physical health problems will also have mental health problems but not all the time. Some physical illnesses will disrupt that person’s mental capacity. People with any chronic physical disease tend to feel more psychological distress than do healthy people. Poor health…[Read more]

If you are talking about the numbing shots for your mouth – they really only hurt for a second. I will be having actual surgery where they put me to sleep and have to cut my gums with a scalpel and remove teeth that never came through my gums:( Since I will be asleep though, I won’t feel it.

Your dentist is your soulmate, if that is the case @lolaze. God send him/her to you to solve your issues about dentists. I wish I able to find a person that will able to support me as I am afraid of needles and how it feels to have anesthesia, of course, you will feel numb all over, but I do believe I will have high blood pressure while having a…[Read more]
