Everybody is hungry of praise on earth but behind the praise are hidden some dangerous danger as under a peaceful sea or under a deep water that is why it is said shallow water runs quickly and deep water runs slowly. Praise is the reflection of virtue; but it is as the glass or body, which gives the reflection. If it be from the common people, it is commonly false and naught; and rather follows vain persons, than virtuous. Certainly fame is like a river that bears up things light and swollen, and drowns things weighty and solid.
There be so many false points of praise, that a man may justly hold it a suspect. Some praises proceed merely of flattery; and if he be an ordinary flatterer, he will have certain common attributes, which may serve every man; if he be a cunning flatterer, he will follow the arch flatterer, which is a man’s self; and wherein a man thinks best of himself, therein the flatterer will uphold him most: but if he be an impudent flatterer, look wherein a man is conscious to himself, that he is most defective, and is most out of countenance in himself.

Why lean or depend on flattery when you can do what you think is right. I always believe that when you do something do it in such a way that when you someone looks at what you have done, they will directly applaud you or praise you for what you have done because it is good. Many people dont usually look at what they ar3 doing mostof the time assuming that they will receive praise. But the best thing is to do what you do best and all things will follow you. |

Most of us want, if not, craved for praises. Some will say that praises will motivate them to do more. Being praised gives us the satisfaction we need. It’s a longing that needs to be fulfilled. If we are being praised by other people, it will boost our self- esteem. It also gives value to what we are doing. However, there are those who are not satisfied with simple compliments. They sometimes want more or even more praises which will fall into greediness
