Periplaneta Americana can make you rich

If you are a farmer, you will know the power of planting crops or raising animals to sell for a great profit.

Many farmers in China are raising Periplaneta Americana.

According to some reports, a farmer can make $150,000 a year by selling Periplaneta Americana.  If the market demand is not good, the earnings will fall to $50,000.

Since the farmers are living in China where the cost of living is much lower, they can live very comfortably with $50,000.

A plus point is that it does not take much effort to raise Periplaneta Americana.  They do not need a large farmland or a large building to breed them too.

They do not need to wait years to sell Periplaneta Americana.  As long as it is 4 months old, you can sell them.

Another plus point is the feeds are not expensive.  It is unlike raising poultry or cows for consumption.  Many consumers are very particular about the quality of the feeds.

However, for the raising of this Periplaneta Americana, nobody cares about the feed.  They are not fussy eaters and they do not need immunity boosters.  You can feed them with hairs that have dropped off, rotten fruits and vegetation, dead insects (such as ants, termites, flies and lizards), food that your pet cat or dog cannot finish.

The reason that Periplaneta Americana is in great demand is for medicinal purpose.  Extracts can use for treating blood clots, intestinal problems, heart disease, and all others.  The pharmaceutical companies are very big buyers with deep pockets.

It seems that the people are using the drugs made from Periplaneta Americana and they are in much better health than before.

What exactly is Periplaneta Americana?

It is the scientific name for America Cockroaches.

Are you keen to start a cockroach farm and raise 22 million cockroaches?  Just make sure that you can keep them from escaping.  Your neighbors will not appreciate 22 million cockroaches invading their houses to search for food.

    • I think I'll pass on this one, @scheng1! I can do without the cockroaches, but I can see why people raising them would make so much money doing it. If there's a demand and few want to do it, the job will always pay well!

    • A big NO for me. It is not my cup of tea to have this kind of creatures in my land. I had heard that a lot of people loved to eat cultured cockroaches. Personally, I might not able to swallow it. I had seen some documentary about it. They do appreciate munching the juicy cockroaches.
