peachpurple wrote a new post, 4 Tips how to prepare food at home for busy people 8 years, 1 month ago

Do you agree that home made food is better than dining outside?
Majority agree that homecooked food is better but how many of us have
the time to cook at home ?

Both parents and single adults are seen busy […]

    • This are some really good tips on how to cook for people who he e no time in the kitchen is who are too busy with work. I am one of those people who do most of the things that you have mentioned above. It saves me a lot I time and money when I prepare my meals before hand, do that when I get home it’s easier for me to cook even if it’s late.usually on Sundays is when I do my boiling and stacking of good in the freezer for future use. I boil meat dinner vegetables and anything else that needs preparations before time so that when I get to the house all I need to do is thaw and start cooking thanks for sharing those tips

    • There are some useful tips for cooking at home. As you rightly said that people nowadays are finding it difficult to devote time for cooking for various reasons. Most common reason for not cooking at home is because of tiresomeness and not having a good company to share their work at cooking. The remaining reasons may be specific to a particular family and a member who is cooking for the home.

The tip on how to cook in less than 20 minutes for the entire home is good. The appliances you have mentioned will be quite friendly in cooking. They save time and money also. They also assure some good physical activity.

I want to add that eating in a glassware will save a lot of water as they are easy to wash. We need not use a lot of water in cleaning the dinner and lunch plates. The dinner plates and other serving bowls should be kept clean and should be of good material to avoid the reaction with the food items served.

But, these items should be changed at least once in a year for keeping the kitchen always nice and attractive. This will create a good ambience for eating.

There are some people who recommend cooking for a whole week at a time. But this is not advisable. The Fridge and other electronic items may be efficient in keeping and preserving the food. But it is confined to only some countries only. It also depends on the climate you are living in . In the countries having colder atmosphere the cooking of food for a week may be accepted. But not with the people living in the countries that have a very hot climate.

Nowadays, it isn’t easy to get my kids to do household chores and I am sure that
some parents out there are having the same kids problems too.

My hubby was sick and tired of hearing my repeated nagging d […]

    • They should be encouraged in doing household chores because it prepares them for future.

    • I have very young kids and I have to admit with no lying I wish there was some help for my house hold chores. It is not easy do a job, come back home, and find all filthy and ready for new circle of cleaning, cooking and feeding. My parents help, my mother in law is radically useless and vain. She does helping only if her son explicitly tells her to do us a favor.
My children are still too small to provide normal help with mind that they will not hurt or cut hands. I give older daughter to help. She can dust and clean simple things, but many times work become play and then younger brothers were one used like mops to reach under bed. It was funny but ever dirty again.

    • Well said, house chores have to be done regardless. No one wakes up one morning and becomes responsible you have start from somewhere. And that’s where the mum comes in she has to initiate the work in the house and make him kids responsible in their lives. You have outlined them very well there is nothing else to add really. There should be no excuse for not doing house chores that just have to be done.

peachpurple wrote a new post, Reasons Why Writers Write the Same Post Titles 8 years, 1 month ago

I had read many posts online at different sites but why do we
writers keep writing the same post titles since we already know
    the answers.

Everytime I search for a title for my new post, I could find […]

    • I think that various different writers in different pages about very same topic use exactly same titles to tehir problem post because there is no other way how to present that porblem but with preset combination of words, that leads to exactly same title every time with no mistake. If you write about cakes from chocolate and cream, why not you use other words but chocolate and cream? Because it is just not possible.

    • Writing the same title is basis problem of SEO Search Engine Operation, for example, m name is ranked in the google search people ill choose the name as mine just bit different so that traffic could reach to their sites is the main problem.

Post titles are essential to promoting your blog content. Believe it or not, it really makes the difference when a you carefully craft post title to work well, social media, in SEO, and most of all, with your readers. But how do you do it? Actually, it’s not as hard as you think. With just a few tips to keep in mind writing posts titles that get people to click on your links is as easy as pie.

If you don’t believe me. Give the tips a try, and test them. You can use tools like bit.ly to track the post titles, and you can see which post titles get more clicks. If you’re using a newsletter service like Mailchimp, you can test with A/B split testing to see which headlines get more opens. While each person’s blog is different, I’ve found the tips below to increase click rates quite significantly, sometimes as much as the difference between 100 clicks and 1,200 clicks.

    • Writing blog post titles that get attention and traffic is a unique form of writing, because you write blog post titles for multiple reasons. First, you want people to be intrigued enough to feel compelled to read the actual blog post. Second, you don’t want to trick anyone by writing a title that is irrelevant to your blog post content.

Third, you want your blog post to help drive search engine traffic, so you need to focus on keywords when you come up with your blog post titles. That’s a hefty list, but you can meet all three goals when you write blog post titles following the steps below.

Your blog post titles should be interesting. They should intrigue readers enough to make them want to click on the link to your post and keep reading it. That’s not to say that straightforward titles aren’t effective. They are! However, you need to have a mix of creative and intuitive post titles to get the best of both worlds.

You don’t want to be accused of tricking people into reading your blog post based on the title and then have them be disappointed in the actual content they find within the post. That can do more harm to your blog than good. If you bait them in your blog post title, you need to be sure that you deliver the content they’re looking for within your post content.

    • I also observed the same thing regarding the usage of one title by different authors. I suppose that is the best way they can write it.

    • to make money you need to write attractiv epost titel for sure, and it have to be also related to your post and to use
i guess that writers should not write the dame title like others, to make it work

    • I love Spinach as it is a leafy vegetable. It is rich in taste and having good iron content. It is good to eat Spinach just boiling and frying it in in coconut oil. It gives immediate relief to the muscle pain. Whenever I visit any Punjabi Restaurant in Hyderabad I order two kulchas (masala) along with Spinach curry. Actually, the people suffering from Arthritis should avoid Spinach. But, when it is combined with Coconut oil and a dish is prepared it will be proved very beneficial for the problem.

The dish you have written an article is containing some Tofu also. So it generates heat in the body and anybody suffering from Arthritis should be very careful in using this dish. Others, can without any second thought welcome this dish. It will be great in taste also.

Dawnwriter wrote a new post, Great Opening Lines of Great Novels 8 years, 1 month ago

Great opening lines are very important for any work of literature. Whether you are writing a novel, a short story, a blog post or a newspaper article, a great opening line will make sure that your reader stays […]

    • I know almost all of those you have quoted… also remember; “Scarlett O’Hara was not beautiful but few men noticed when caught by her charm.”

“The Third Camel died at dawn.”

      • Yes. They are all great people. I think you are having some knowledge in Literature. But I am not. So the only thing I can do is just to appreciate the good writers and persons having good taste in literature. Thank you.

    • Opening lines are very not only in the writing of novels but also on academic works. I remember the days when I was to write my final year project my supervisor made me realized that my abstract must capture it all. That it must summarize the whole section of my project works. To put it shortly quality of opening lines cannot be overemphasized.

      • My Masters were asking us to write the project report. They were taking them to their houses and were making corrections. They were giving instructions in pen so that a student can remember the things well.

    • All great authors know how important an opening line is to grab the reader’s attention and instantly connect with them. But there is no opening line ever written that will ever be better than the one penned by Charles Dickens to introduce the reader to “A Tale Of Two Cities.” 🙂

      • I don’t think they are all necessary nowadays. People do not bother about the great opening and great closure. They want essence. They want information but not transformation. The transformation is already taking place and will take place without any effort. So they concentrate more on information.

    • yes. Those are great lines.

    • Yes. These opening lines and closing lines are meant for those who used to sit comfortably after their lunch and dinner in the open air. They need have to worry about their comforts not at all. They were thinking and knitting their words. I do not think they were doing that also. I can say that they wrote for their next generations. Who taught them about these closings and openings? No one I think.

    • This one fits Stephen King’s definition of great opening line: “Listen. Come in here. You want to know about this.”

    • Some very great quotes indeed!

    • They just want to know that your are there for them

    • S hurting child will sometimes be very quiet, and not really say anything just in case he is told that he is being too petty about some issues. When a child is hurt that will always throw tantrums others will get aimlessly just like you have mentioned above. And that can be very annoying trying to stop that child from crying can be a huge mess. But the best way is to show them that you are attentive to them. It’s not really about what you will give them but just your time would change everything. Time is very essential most people take it for granted they don’t spend much time with their children’s making their kids feel vulnerable and neglected and that’s why they will always get and throw tantrums.

    • In my case when a child is hurt I check what the issue is and then treat the child accordingly. I do not like to treat the child with kid gloves always. Sometimes it is needed to be done but many other times I explain them why they are crying and when they will stop crying and how they can help themselves in the situation.

I see many grown children also crying nowadays. For very minor issues. I feel they have been turned into delicate darling’s by there parents by showering too much of love and affection and also by being overprotective. This sort of a thing will never help the child and will turn out to be a problem when they grow as adults. An interesting article giving information on how to handle different children with varied mentalities. Best wishes.

salt, for cleansing the prawn meat
corn flour, for cleansing the prawn meat
      Fillings:
      250 gm pork mince
      160 gm prawn meat
3 shiitake mushrooms, soaked and shredded
30 gm bamboo shoots, frozen or canned, blanched in hot water then shredded
20 gm wood ears, blanched in hot water then shredded
      Marinade:
      2 tsp light soy sauce
      ½ tsp salt
      ½ tsp sugar
      ½ tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp cornflour / corn starch
½ tsp chicken powder / chicken bouillon
      1 egg white
      white pepper, to taste
      sesame oil, to taste

      Method:
Mix the prawn meat with a little of salt and corn flour. Leave them for about 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse and pat dry with kitchen papers. Cut each into 3 to 4 pieces.
Mix pork mince with marinade. Stir in the prawn, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, wood ears. Cover and chill in fridge for about 20 minutes, or until you’re ready to wrap dumplings.
Put a heaped spoon of fillings in the middle of a wrapper. Damp the wrapper around the fillings and seal the filling tightly, leaving the wrapper edges loosely. No need to make it perfect. Just make sure the fillings won’t leak out while boiling. Repeat this step to finish wrapping with the remaining fillings.
Bring the chicken stock to a boil over high heat in a pot.
In the meantime, carefully put dumplings into another large pot of boiling water over high heat. Stir the water with chopsticks in order to avoid the dumplings stick to the bottom. When the dumplings float to the water surface. Immediately transfer them into the chicken stock. Add bok choy and cook for a while. Season with salt. Sprinkle spring onion and sesame oil. Serve immediately.

    • Those are good tips. Lifestyle that has movement could keep one healthy.

    • What you mention here are very informative especially to those people who keep on complaining about their body weight, sick, and their hobby is just sitting and watching television or internet at their home.

In my case, though I am not so active now but my physical exercise include running (morning or afternoon)and biking. During the height of my running, I do it even 5 times a week. Biking now is my favorite exercise. Its good feeling when you do it.

    • Exercise is most essential part of human life if no exercise means a walking hospital. n other words, exercise aims to maintain or enhance our physical fitness and general health. People exercise for many different reasons. Some of them are included below:

Benefits of Exercise in Daily Life

Strengthens the muscles that are involved in respiration – exercises facilitate the flow of air in and out of the lungs
Strengthens and enlarges the heart muscle – this improves aerobic conditioning – pumping of blood and the heart rate (lowers the pulse of a person when they are resting)
Tones muscles throughout most of the body
      Reduces blood pressure
      Improves circulation
Raises the number of red blood cells, in turn facilitating transportation of oxygen
The sleep quality of insomnia patients can improve with moderate exercise, a study found
      Improves mental health
A study found that exercise reduces migraine suffering
Reduces the risk of heart disease and cardiovascular problems
Helps improve survival rates of patients with cardiovascular diseases significantly, as researchers found
Stimulates bone growth (high impact aerobic exercise), reduces risk of osteoporosis
Increases stamina or endurance – aerobic activity increases the body’s ability to store energy molecules such as fats and carbohydrates within the muscle
      Increases blood flow through muscles
Improves muscles’ ability to use fats during exercise, thus preserving the intramuscular glycogen.

We all human being must make exercise daily at least 30 to 45 minutes to maintain health for future life and old age. No walk, no exercise in life is injurious to health.
