5 Ways to make a Homemaker Happy

Being a full time homemaker is hard work.

If you are a homemaker with toddlers or school age kids, you know what I mean.

A homemaker is the woman of the house who does the “One man show” which

means, she is doing all the jobs/ tasks that no one wants to lay their hands on.

# Wash the dirty dishes ( nobody wants to touch yucky plates)

# cook daily meals ( everybody is waiting for me to cook, not helping )

# wash and clean up toddler’s buttock after poop ( nobody could stand the stool’s

stench, not even looking at them!)

# sweep and mop the floor( nobody is lifting a helping hand to sweep the floor after

leaving biscuit crumbs on the floor, inviting the ants to have a party)

And many more

After all those daily activities that a homemaker had to do, isn’t there anything else that could make you happy when you are at home?

After hubby goes to work, kids off to school, you are alone at home with the family

pet and the computer is all yours for the whole day.

Other than writing at LiteracyBase aren’t there anything else to make you happy?

Yes, I had found the following activities made me happy being a homemaker:

1. Watch TV or Online movies:

Some days there are great programs to keep me entertain with cooking

programs, Talk Shows (  Ellen ), Game Programs ( Running man, Wheel Of

Fortune) and Funny Short Programs ( Gag-Just for laughs )

2. Listen to the radio or my favorite music:

Singapore FM Radio station has a vast language radio stations where you can

choose from; Tamil, Chinese, English, Korean and Instrumental.

I love 96.3 during the nights where the KPOP music are played, my favorite

idols such as Big Bang, Super Junior, K.Will, BTS, Davichi.

During the day, I listen to 98.7FM where there are hip hop songs, latest news

in every 30min and comical conversation going on among the DJs.

3. Log in To Interact Ex-school mates:

Facebook and WhatsApp are the places where I can connect and interact with

my ex-schoolmates. 80% of them are married, have kids on their own, leading

a happy life and a homemaker like me.

Hence, we have lots of stuff to discuss and gossip almost anything under the

sun.

4. Hand Work:

I used to love cross-stitching when I was young.

Suddenly, I had the urge to pick up the pieces again.

I downloaded the cross-stitch diagram of a boy and a girl, bought the needle,

fabric and threads. Just started cross-stitching the little girl’s hair.

I will upload my finished cross-stitch work when it is done.

5. Baking and Cooking:

My passion in baking started 8years ago.

I started to bake from scratch. Nobody taught me how to bake.

Thanks to Joyofbaking.com that had taught me to bake with those mouth

watering pictures.

So far, I had baked cakes and cookies.

Now I am trying to improve on my bread making and muffins.

Takes a lot of practice to make it perfect.

I do prepare home cooked food daily, 6 days a week and a day off on

Sundays.

I usually search for new recipes online, preferably those with step by step

pictures which are easier for me to understand the instructions.

Hubpages provide a lot of step by step recipes, that is where I learned from

scratch.

So, what are the activities that could make you happy when you are

at home?

Do you prefer to go shopping alone or with your family?

I prefer to shop alone because I can buy and eat anything I wanted

or yearn to!!

Do share with me your opinion. I would love to hear from you.

Cheers!
