You will be left behind if you do not move with the times and learn to adjust. And this message is directed at seniors
Living under one roof where seniors and juniors try to make a living expecting peace everywhere needs a lot of adjustment and this adjustment has to come from seniors.
Seniors have lived their life and now it is the turn for the youngsters to taste it.
Youngsters are living in a situation where everything is changing at breakneck speed. Trying to get in their way will spell doom for both the young and the old.
Seniors should leave them alone as long as what they do and experience is not detrimental to society and the family
Take for instance the latest music – certainly not something seniors would enjoy. While the juniors could easily use a headphone they prefer if it is opened to the environment. Seniors get disturbed. In that eventuality senior could use some ear plugs or move where they cannot hear it.
The list of things that require for seniors to adjust is pretty long. And adjust they must if they expect a peaceful environment around them.
Having said that seniors could move towards a secenario which basically belongs to youngsters. Learning how to use a computer could be one step in that direction. They could join some courses of their choice which gives them the ‘student’ title – something that youngsters are into already. Getting closer to fit in the environment is a brilliant way to mix and mingle with the youngsters liking what they do as long as there are no health hazards.
I have seen many seniors enjoy living with their children as they have worked hard to adjust and have given a lee way to their kids without stifling them.
Rigidity spells doom. Flexibility is the answer. Life without expectations is the key to happiness.

For us youngsters, we find seniors who knows how to like the things we like cool. I mean, when a senior knows how to sing the trending song or take selfies to upload at social media, it's cool. In our home, we teach our grandma and mother to use the tablet and smartphones since they dont know how to use it. Their determination to learn those things is definitely their way of telling us that they are willing to adjust so that everyone in our home can be happy.
I am a senior and I have far advanced. In fact I could teach youngsters a thing or two :grin:
In my opinion seniors are more co-operating than juniors as they are always ready to make adjustments. Adjustments means to change oneself as per the demand, and seniors are perfect in this connection. Juniors do need to learn more from their senior counterparts.
It depends on the role seniors have played in their life vis a vis their family. If their role has sbeen significant I doubt if they can readily adjust - just saying.
