How can We Save Water for our Coming Generations

We all should try to save water as it is of utmost importance to us. Water is an essential part of our lives and we cannot even think of our life without water. As we are members of the society, we should try to save water by different means and shouldn’t leave everything on Government and its policies.

  1. Make people aware of Bad effects of Water wastage and Good things of saving water. Most people are unaware and they are ignorant to their wastage of water.
  2. Rain water should be saved. In this case Government should help as well to make places where in the rain water can be saved and can be utilized effectively later on and many places in Southern part of India are utilizing this method very well and in other countries as well.
  3. Government should check and punish the wrong doers who are wasting water with their negligence.
  4. Use of Recycled water for Agriculture and other activities like that except for cooking and drinking.
  5. Close the Water tap when it’s not in use so that it won’t unnecessarily waste the water.
  6. Wash your vehicles with wet clothes rather than using flexible water pipes and throwing water on the car or bike. Most water gets wasted through this process and efforts should be made by government that these people should use only recycled water and will only wash with wet cloths rather than wasting many buckets of water in cleaning.

It’s us who should change ourselves to save water for us and for our coming generations and there is no substitute for water and we require water for almost everything, for drinking, for cleaning, for cooking, for washing clothes. Also we should try to not infect the water of ponds and rivers as still we see people throw many things in the rivers and ponds which infect the water.

Water is a Boon and blessing for us by God and we should use it effectively as well.

    • I don't think all the water in the world is going to evaporate any time soon. But if you're in need of water and all there is is dirty water. Take two containers. Fill one with water the other none. Next, take a piece of cloth. Stick one end in the dirty water the other end in the empty container. This will filter the water in the new container leaving all that yucky stuff behind. After that boil the water, let it cool and now you have drinking water. So the next time the world is ending.. You're prepared.

    • True wastage of water in our country goes to extreme levels on the one side we have people who are suffering for lack of water and on the other we have those who are overdrawing the water and using more than needed thus emptying the ground water resources. Not only that people waste potable water by using the same to wash their cars and vehicles. Which is criminal waste of resources. This has to stop.

The water board has to see to it that where ever water connection is there there is a meter attached to it as it can keep a track of water being used by the family and water has to be limited per household in our country. People also construct houses and lay cement on the ground thus not allowing rain water to grow through the ground and recharge the ground water which has been utilized leading to shortage in summer months. A important issue on which action has to be taken as mentioned in your article.

    • People need to be educated on usage of water and much they should economize, thus preventing wastage. During cooking some people wash their food stuffs under running water, when they are supposed to just get the water in a bowl and wash the item in it. The same applies to washing of fruits and vegetables, this will also go a long way to reduce wastage of water. Then waste water that can be used for purposes should be re-used.

    • its so vital issue to deal with and try to find solutions for its problem still on.
its us that really do the change and save water, but how and when its really by the new generation, they can help alot by caring for the places they go to and their homes also, its every minute can seve alot for sure and every thing you deos saves water alsos

    • Very true but I also think that water is not going to vanish away, but you have a valuable point out on the unnecessary use of water that people are doing right now. When you have 24/7 water supply to your taps its obvious that people start to get negligent, why to close and open the taps instead keep them open. The would rather value their taps getting spoiled of the continues opening and closing rather than the water that's being wasted. There are so many farmers who have decided to end their life's due to no rains in their fields and were unable to pay their debts, who really bothers. Its good that the there are places in India where there is supply of water for only an or even less in a day. We just cant rely on the Government to make us aware, we are all aware but just don't want to be a responsible citizen.
