You mention that the condition is treatable, how is it treated?
-
Copied from psychological journal….
The most frequently used form of therapy is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and systematic desensitization or exposure therapy. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, about 75% of people with specific phobias overcome their fears through cognitive-behavioral therapy.
In desensitization or exposure therapy, you are exposed in a safe and controlled way to the object or situation you fear. The most commonly used exposure therapy involves gradual encounters with the fear-producing object, first in the imagination and then in reality. Through repeated experiences facing your fear, you begin to realize that the situation, while possibly unpleasant, is not harmful. With each exposure, you feel an increasing sense of control over your phobia. This sense of control over the situation and yourself is the most important benefit of exposure therapy. As you become desensitized to your fear, you no longer react with uncontrollable panic when confronted by it.
Relaxation and stress relief techniques are frequently an accompaniment to other therapeutic approaches. Relaxation techniques may include things like specific ways of breathing, muscle relaxation training, guided mental imagery, or soothing self-talk.
Medication can also be used in the treatment of monophobia. Drugs do not “cure” a fear of being alone or any other phobia, but they can temporarily suppress the symptoms through chemical interaction.

Sites such as this benefit with long posts as the Ads linger on.
-
That is a myth. That is why so many sites demanded 2k words. They thought the longer item would prove the site was ‘serious’. What happens, and you know it for yourself, is that you write an article, it is ‘too short’ you go back and start stuffing words. You’ve said everything you need to in 287 words. But you have to stuff in more. And unless you actually can find another clause that is necessary… blah blah

I think it is understandable that in an online earning site, we are there to earn. Thus, we are in a hurry to be able to post and earn more by the comment it would get.
Thus, we know that our time to read is limited, so we also try to make our posts shorter, to also give way for us to be able to read and comment to friend’s posts.
However, in a writing site such as here, there is a minimum number of words for a post to be approved to be published. Thus, I see a lot who are sometimes just beating around the bush just to meet the minimum number of words. I hate to say it, but they are rubbish posts.
Although, some would really go detail by detail, so much so that one would think, is this copied from anywhere and would be checked by Admin if they really are.
So here, you can sense if a post is just being made just to conform to having the minimum number of words. You have just read a few paragraphs but you already know what is being pointed out, because sometimes as go on reading , the writer seems to be already drifting.
Funny, but this is true to some posts here. Can we not just post shorter but substantive posts. If a post needs explanation , then a long post will do.

We are on the exact same page… that is how I feel. I write and try to get to the point. The best writers do that… so if you want to know what monophobia is and do a search you DON’T WANT TO READ…
“People all over the world suffer from Monophobia. You probably know people who suffer from Monophobia. Yet, Monophobia is nothing to be afraid or ashamed of…. (blah blah blah)
You want to Read:
Monophobia is the fear of being alone and can make a person feel insecure, anxious and depressed.

I think it is good to write as short as possible. The only good fact is that the message and reason of the write up should be made as clear as possible. There is no crime in writing more words. This may either be for more clearance or emphasis.
-
The modern style is to be as quick as possible. Get to the point as sharp as one can and avoid the ‘very’ and other wasteful modifiers. Although 300 words here is not inordinately long, the fact is that when one finishes their sharp article and has to add 30 or 40 words… they rarely contribute.

Yes, that’s a lost opportunity indeed. However, that person shOuld also consider, that no one knows that he /she is coming. That’s how it should be.
Because if the celebrity could have informed that he/she will be coming, then for sure that employee will wait even if it means forgoing of his/her lunch and do it once the given time to arrive has lapsed and no one came.
And in this case, the person who was asked as to where the employee is should be responsible enough, to call the said employee if it is a V.I.P who has come to speak with him/her.
-
In many cases, one doesn’t know that a special visitor is coming. No one knew Barack Obama would want to go to the Bob Marley museum. It wasn’t until he had landed, checked into the hotel, that the calls were made and those who were there were there, and those who weren’t were not.
Rem. He couldn’t advertise where he was going too far in advance for security reasons.

Yes, they really do.
-
And I am sure people are still babbling away… chatting their personal business for all to hear.
-
-
I think when we are to speak in a phone, we have to make our voice modulated for others not to hear. It is not a good manner to be talking loudly on the phone, because you might be diturbing other people when you do that.
And as to spying using the phone, I think it will take the government first to ask permission to hack somebody’s conversation when it is of utmost security risk that they are trying to prevent.
-
Most people talk so loudly and disturbingly as if they don’t realise they are being heard. Gov. doesn’t ask permission. The information is there. They just tap in.

Some people develop love and like for old things. This is no doubt a good hobby. There is no guarantee we always will be on the profit side. Sometimes we will incur heavy loss also. But, the chances for the latter are less.
Yes. The price of the old ones will be half of the new ones. It is also true that most of the machinery will have good quality material wise than the new ones.
I had a good experience. I got Manual singer sewing machine which is of 60 years old. We were not using it. I wanted to use it. So took it to the servicing center. The mechanic was an expert. He just saw it and asked ‘WHY WAS IT KEPT IDLE FOR THE LAST 40 TO 50 YEARS”. I told him the reason He asked for the machine and was ready to pay Rs.6000/- as is where is a condition. I did not accept for that and got it repaired. Now it is perfect.
Similarly, the story of my St.Thomas Wall Clock which is really 150 years old. My grandfather purchased it in those British days.
I really enjoy to have them and take good care of the above two items. -
Good article. We have in the States a similar location. We call these places Thrift stores. They are designed to raise funds for the homeless and needy. Rich people contribute to these centers and you can find clothes with the receipt tag with it in good conditions. Plus, if you do your homework right, you can find good antique items in which you can sell for a profit. My wife and I have shopped at these places and we have gotten good deals, especially with the clothes. These places are good because not only do you get super deals but your funds helps out those in need. It is a win-win deal!
-
Mr. Siva, those antique lovers look for profits and it towards old coins, paper money, stamp, antique furniture, etc.
Me, just for fun and own collection, not much for profit. Haha!
Singer manual sewing machine is always the best, I believe, especially those old one, with 50 years and older. If you have an older, with 70 years old, I believe your must have a very nice flowery stand. This is what I always looking for and admired to, but yet get one with me so far. Sigh!
St. Thomas brand clock, I have no idea on the brand, but I just bought a digital Telesonic wall clock at USD4, we repaired it , it can play music and with some lights on , my kids are very happy with it. I believe, a new one could cost up to USD150 at least.Yes, take well care of those antique items with sweet memory.
@Caleb, it’s win-win deal, but I not really go for profits, but most of the retires and furniture manufacturers come here and buy for re-cond those furniture for resell for profit.

The country is under Mr.Duterte.As long as it is under the administration of a single man everything will take place in proper order and any defiance to the established rules and regulations will be viewed severely. India, being under different Administrators each state having their own rules and regulations expecting such facilities will be not possible.
However, there are some concessions but not as many as the Sr citizen of Philippines have got. They got 40% discount on Train fare. In some important places, like temples, they will be allowed without waiting in a queue. As far the medical facilities are concerned they are not available to all. But, the Governments are introducing them slowly. Most of the Administrators are of a conservative type and they spend more on eating the public money than providing facilities to the public. The young generations are entering into politics very slowly and hence the new methods and innovations are also taking place in a slow manner.-
But at least the discount on the fares are 40%, double the discount rate of our seniors here.
Actually, if only the administrators there are thinking in long term when it comes to their time to be senior citizens, they would be doing some more privileges for the seniors there.
I suppose the seniors there have high pensions so that’s why they don’t ask that other privileges should be given to them also.
-
-
Very nice to know, glad you enjoyed your Valentines day, i enjoyed as well. Yeah in our country as well they have many schemes and discounts for senior citizens but i will check them out after 32 more years LOL
-
Are your parents already senior citizens? If they are, have you asked them what are their privileges as senior citizens.
From what I have read on sivasubrahmanyam’s comment the seniors there have 40% discount on fares. That’s nicer because it’s double the dsicount on fares that the seniors are getting here. So if it’s a long travel it will really be a great help.

I can read through your posts that you are a wise person who think of ways on how to be able to economize and be able to save a lot when purchasing insurances and the like.
Actually, we don’t have those accident insurances. Although, when you ride a bus going to Manila, you will be made to choose if your buy an insurance for only 20 pesos (US$ .02), good only in case you met an accident on that trip.
Even airplanes have insurance coverage inclusive of the airfare paid.
We also have our accident insurance coverage for each employees at the office.
@Dina,so do you buy the insurance when ride the bus?
