@peachpurple I think the score comes from people voting up the comments you write. I don’t know if it affects our rate of pay or anything, but I’ve noticed that in my points history some of my comments or reply are earning more than others. I wonder if this is because some were voted up?
My score is still low too. Give it time! You’re very active…[Read more]

How many of you make (or adapt) graphics for your articles and posts? If you do make graphics, what tools do you use?
I create some images simply by taking a photo with my phone. But I also like to play around with graphics editors. I use two right now. On my computer, I have GIMP installed. It’s similar to Photoshop, but free.
When I want to…[Read more]

It’s getting late, but there’s so much more to do! Not sure whether I’ll try to get another item checked off the to do list, or just enjoy a late supper and some TV before bed…

I’m still trying to get the hang of the forums here. Did I choose the right option to create this forum? I’m not sure!
Disappointed that the graphic just shows up in the corner as a thumbnail. I was aiming more for a banner of sorts…

@peachpurple I also like to vote up a comment that is thoughtful and that has some substance to it. I wouldn’t vote for a comment that is just a few words, or that doesn’t seem to relate to the post.

@kaka135 I think it would be rare for anyone to use the “vote down” button. If there are issues, we can report content. If not, we can either vote up or not vote at all. No need to vote down, is there really?

A place to discuss writing online – blogging, content writing, paid to write sites, etc. Come talk about the art of writing for the web, about how web writing differs from writing for print, or about great resources for web writers! Topics could include related concepts like SEO, promotion and social media, and graphics for your posts.
Yes it does seem to be a score for each comment. Though I guess at some moment, the points for all of our thumbs up get added to produce our personal score…

I don’t know if others were as slow to notice this as I was, but there is an option to voter up (or down) replies in a forum topic. It’s a tiny icon just under the comment, and once you’ve voted you can see a score pop up beside it.
I’m not exactly sure how it all works, but it seems we have a user score for the forum. When you post in the forum,…[Read more]

I have four kids: three girls and a boy. We always wanted to have a big family, and actually had five pregnancies. I lost the second to last one early in the pregnancy. After the littlest was born, I decided my body had taken enough….

I am close to 50 years old, and I still just call my parents “Mom” and “Dad.” Sometimes I’ll say, “Daddy” instead, depending how I feel at the time.
My kids call us the same ways, though I always preferred “Mama” to “Mommy.” My oldest says “Mama,” but the rest of the kids say “Mom” or “Mommy.”
