Men Fear Death as Children Fear Darkness. by JH Sayyar

Men on earth feat death I do not know why? I think death is nothing but the change of man’e being from one world to other world. We must not fear death. I have seen cowards fear death or evil minded but holy and pious people hail death gladly. Men fear death, as children fear to go in the dark; and as that natural fear in children, is increased with tales, so is the other Certainly, the contemplation of death, as the wages of sin, and passage to another world, is holy and religious; but the fear of it, as a tribute due unto nature, is weak. When a man has so many attendants for works that can win the combat of him but revenge triumphs over death; love slights it; honor aspires to it; grief flies to it; fear preoccupies it; nay, we read, after Othello the emperor had slain himself, pity (which is the tender of affections) provoked many to die, out of mere compassion to their sovereign, and as the truest sort of followers. I say that he that dies in an earnest pursuit, is like one that is wounded in hot blood.

Is there anyone really who does not fear death in this world really? I know that we all fear death no one wants to go that direction yet it is inevitable that we will all be going that direction, when it comes then we are forced to come to terms with it. It is the hardest thing or experience that anyone would have to come face to face with in our lives. Now if i may ask you @jhsayyar if a man can fear death how much more can a woman? Women are more vulnerable and they are more emotional than men, so i wouldnt really agree with you when you say that men fear death more than women. The only reason that makes women appear mor courageous is because we were craeted to be more emotional stable than men even in hard situations. |
