Why are some extremely powerful men so obsessed with a woman’s hair and appearance. In the entertainment sector, like movies, television, modelling, the obsession with thick hair and beauty can be justified to some extent, however why do some extremely powerful men think that only the woman’s hair and appearance matters, everything else like education, work experience, investment, work ethic, knowledge does not matter at all.
While a company or organization is free to select their employees according to their own criteria, including appearance and hair thickness, why are security and intelligence agency officials using this as the criteria for labelling an ugly woman as a security threat without any proof at all, stealing her resume, investment without a court order or legally valid reason.
In some places in India, some extremely powerful officials are obsessed with a woman’s hair and appearance, and openly discriminate against ugly women who do not have thick hair and flawless skin. Do you know of any men, especially government officials who will openly discriminate against, criticize and ridicule women, harmless citizens, because they do not have thick hair, flawless skin and are not beautiful enough.

History shows that hair is a symbol of femininity. During the civil war when women weren’t to battle, hundreds of women soldiers disguised themselves as men by cutting off their hair, eventually being imprisoned upon discovery.

After the Battle of France in 1940, French women’s heads were shaved as punishment for their sexual relationships with German soldiers. Today a woman’s hair remains a symbol of femininity.

It’s no wonder women feel like their hair is a “crowning glory,” as this phrase dates back to Biblical times. According to 1 Corinthians 11: 15, “but for a woman, if her hair is abundant, it is a glory to her;

for her hair is given to her for a covering.” As shown in 1 Corinthians 11: 5, “and every woman, who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered, dishonors her head; for she is on a level with her whose head is shaven.” The negative implication of a woman with a bare head is apparent in today’s society.

 jhsayyar, if you are going to quote a verse from the bible at least interpret it correctly.

 “and every woman, who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered, dishonors her head; for she is on a level with her whose head is shaven.”

This is not referring to her hair. This is referring to having an actual cover over her hair, like in Islam the women wear Hajibs. Christian women are also supposed to cover their heads in this fashion just like the virgin Mary did.

 pcwork, no one wants to hire a woman who doesn’t take care of her hair or herself. She must have clean hair and brushed daily. Some men prefer women to have long hair over short hair. Reason for this is to tell which one is male over female. Some women really do look like men when their hair is short.
