It’s 12:10am here and I find myself unable to sleep once again. It’s probably that chocolate ice cream I had for desert earlier this evening. Sugar rush, maybe. I can literally hear the clock ticking away, soon it’s dawn and I haven’t got a shut eye. It’s worst when I’m thinking about something. I wish I could be like my husband, he falls asleep as soon as his head touched the pillow. I envy him every night. He doesn’t have to remind himself that he needs to sleep; it just happens. They say that “night is the mother of all thoughts”. I guess they were right. At night you can’t help but think of all things good and bad. Things that cpild be, might have ber, what if, and what could be. I mean, don’t we ever stop thinking? Maybe, one of these nights, I’ll get to sleep when I want whenever I want. I hope that time comes soon enough before I came up with another thought, idea or whatever.

As age advances, people do suffer from sleeplessness. This is not only the factor but this may happen due to health conditions also. If one is running blood pressure, sometimes during nights suddenly this feeling develops and one can not sleep in spite of best efforts. The best way to come out of this situation is to come out of bed and spend time doing some useful activity. Listening to music, Listening to interesting songs, programs, watching good and nice programs on T.V is good. Once, the brain settles down it is better to do meditation for a while to have a good sleep. One should not do meditation immediately after getting out of bed. It may sometimes be fatal. So, make the brain settle slowly and then do yoga or meditation. | |
