I can’t sleep and now my stomach is growling. It is going on 3 am. I should be fast asleep but I am wide awake. My brain will not stop shut off for anything. I’m too lazy to walk to the kitchen to grab something to snack on. I only had one meal today. I know I should eat more but my appetite is out of whack. Nothing taste right. Greasy foods make me feel sick. So I simply don’t eat. I could try to roll over and sleep but then the dog will just wake me up to be let outside or I’ll have to end up going to the bathroom myself. Why can’t I just fall asleep and sleep for 8 hours straight without being disturbed? Is that even possible anymore? I guess it can happen in a dream. I can only hope.

@evilelf, Hi friend? That is not good to eat nothing, the more that you cannot sleep. What to do, imagine foods that you like to eat so your digestive system will tell your brain that you want to eat them. I was doing it before when I seemed do not like to eat. Try to drink milk if feel cannot sleep right away. Also try to meditate and talk to God. Every sleep of mine if cannot sleep immediately, I talk to God.I just say, dear Lord, allow me to sleep. I utter this prayer 10 times or more, then I fall asleep. That is how religious I am.I truly love God.I always praise and thank him many times in the day. I hope you are able to sleep now.Have a nice sleep friend. Image thru Search Engine
Hi friend, take care, When someone cannot sleep there may be three reason , stomach pain, too much happiness and too much grief and there is no fourth cause.. I call these causes incidental cause its prime cause is any matter that has no solution to compensate causes waking all night because our brain remains busy tracing the present matter solution. Take anon, any vitamin syrup three times in a day I suggest, aplazyme, or Caomoztme. More better for stomach. Taking its three tea spoons will awake your sleeping hunger sure;y. Take care anon.
cely, I do not do very well with milk products, well milk in general and ice cream. It leaves my stomach upset. I guess it comes with old age. So I do not drink a whole lot of milk. When I am hungry like that I just drink more water or try not to think about it. Usually, that helps. It helped this time. I finally got to sleep around 3:30 but it is now a little after 7am. So not much sleep. My dog refuses to let me sleep late. I wish I had a fenced in yard for days like this so I can just let him outside and go back to bed.
jhsayyar I have no clue by what you keep referencing to as anon. No stomach pains it’s more like hunger strikes again. I don’t like I am supposed to. I don’t eat three meals a day. I am lucky if I eat once a day. Sure I am hungry but I guess I am too lazy to eat. If that makes sense. I will just drink more water. I did have a fight earlier in the evening with someone I care about. Of course, he went to bed with no problem whereas I was left up alone. As usual. As if I didn’t exist. Maybe I shouldn’t worry so much since no one worries about me.
@evilelf I am sorry to hear that you could not sleep today, it can be very disturbing. the hungry feeling during the night is never welcome but what can you do about it. My advice is get up, take some light meal and go back to bed. There is no point torture yourself over being hungry. It will make you more worry in you will not sleep anyways. I usually sleep like a rock, whenever I see bed it is a good excuse for nap time. Only in certainly days ( or nights), I can not catch proper sleep and it is a very bad idea for me to lose sleep because I am for nothing the next day. Last week I slept well, but when ever one of my kids is ill I have problems because it is necessary to wake up and to measure temperature, check on the child and change clothes if necessary. Not a nice thing
hi, not getting enough sleep may be due to old age also. One should have at least 6 hours sleep as advances in age. Not getting sleep may be due to other reasons such as 1.not keeping good health 2. not having sufficient food 3. worries. My sincere advice is 1. just before your bedtime sit in a relaxed position and try to self-hypnotise . Close your eyes and go on thinking that you are going to get a good sleep without any disturbance or distractions. Do it for 5 minutes and go to your bed. It will work.
2. Eat whatever you got at home without thinking about anything. Just concentrate on eating only till you feel sufficient but never try to eat fully. This is really a great art. The more you think while eating the more you will consume than it is required. It will lead to overweight and obesity. 3. If the point no.1 above is not workable for you then take a cup of very hot milk . Add some 5 spoons of sugar to the milk and have it leisurely and with a pleasant mind. It will definitely work for you.
sivasubrahmanyam shatdarsanam Thank you for these tips. Since I was not able to sleep the night before, I was able to fall asleep as soon as I hit the pillow last night. I did so many things during the day that tired not only my body out but my mind also. I woke up this morning feeling a little more refresh than before. I have never tried hot milk with sugar but I will keep that in mind the next time I can not fall asleep. Once again thank you for the tips. |
