I gave up drinking coffee a long time ago when I got introduced to homoeopathy where coffee is not recommended. Tea is what peps me up early in the morning before getting on my online activity What is your preference? Are you an addict. I am not

@bestwriter I heard about homeopathy in these recent years, but I didn’t know they do not recommend drinking coffee. I love both of them, coffee and Chinese tea or green tea. I am not addicted to them, but I just like to drink them. I used to drink coffee almost every morning before I started working, but I am fine not to drink any if I am not at work. It seems like it was helping me to start my work day. My family has the habit of drinking Chinese tea at home, especially during our free time, it’s like a family activity. We just sit there and have the tea while we are chit chatting or reading our own books. I stopped drinking coffee more than 8 years ago, when I planned for my first pregnancy, as I read that coffee or caffeine is not good for the baby. After that I breastfed my baby, then the next baby, then the third now, so I haven’t been drinking even a sip of coffee since then. But I think I will start drinking again once I have stopped breastfeeding my third baby. 😀
Tea is indeed something that brings the family together. We used to have tea with a ‘let’s have a cup of tea’ whenever there was something nice happening around . There was no liquor for celebrating – may be at parties. My favourite tea was lopchu which is not available these days. I am content with Taj now
@grace I don’t mind tea or Coffee as long someone else is making it but if I have to prepare it I will go for Coffee.
@bestwriter Yes, that happens in my family or culture as well. As Chinese, many of us like to drink tea at home, with the tea pot and the small tea cups. Even if we dine out, we usually drink tea as well. @sunil I am sure your wife will always make tea or coffee for you. If you are making it yourself, do you make coffee with coffee maker?
I love drinking tea but i feel in recent years, it is getting too hot in summers to really enjoy tea. Now I love to drink green tea and keep on trying new flavours. Lemongrass, Moroccan Mint, cardamom,, Jasmine and Apple and cinnamon are my favourites. There are literally hundreds of flavors to choose from and I buy a few teabag packets whenever I go to the market and keep them in a jar and try new flavours everyday.

What’s so difficult about making tea? (lol)
Tea has romance in it and no wonder therefore there are so many variations.
@dawnwriter I am staying in tropical country, where everyday seems to be quite hot, perhaps not as hot as summer. We are used to drink tea whenever we want to drink. I enjoy drinking tea together with my family and also drinking tea alone. I do not know why, I find drinking tea and coffee can help me to feel relax and calm me down too. I haven’t try out those new flavors you mentioned, except for Jasmine tea. I like it as well. It’s good that you keep trying different flavor every day. 🙂

I am a tea drinker by preference, but I do enjoy coffee too. My usual coffee is just instant Nescafe, though. I don’t brew coffee at home anymore. In fact, I gave my coffee maker to my friend! A good cup of brewed coffee is much appreciated if we go out to a restaurant or to a cafe, though. Especially one that roasts its own beans on-site! As for tea, I am an orange pekoe drinker. I also love Earl Grey. I will occasionally drink mint tea with a meal if it’s offered, but I’m not a huge fan. I actively dislike green tea, but am fond of some of the newer flavoured white tea blends that contain some green tea as well.
I don’t like to drink tea on the regular basis, maybe sometimes. I am essentially a coffee drinker.
We used to drink orange pekoe too but that brand is not to be seen around. We got into Lopchu after our holiday in Darjeeling and that brand now is prohibitive – almost 20 times. We have now settled for the Taj Brand and I like it. Ground coffee used to be in our household when we were kids.
@Suny Tea or coffee making is an art and just getting it the way you have suggested is a great insult to those most precious beverages. Tea is elixir for me and I do it the right way (lol)
@bestwriter Most black tea sold in Canada is labelled as orange pekoe, although some of the “bargain” brands are simply labelled as “black tea” and tend to taste rather like mud. The better quality black teas are properly labelled (Ceylon, Darjeeling, Lapsang Souchong, etc.) We also have popular blends such as English Breakfast, Earl Grey, and Russian Caravan. Flavoured teas are also popular, especially lemon tea, as are the green and white teas, and herbal tea. Tea is generally not a terribly expensive product here. Prices for the mainstream brands rise and fall, but there are often economy sizes available and they will go on special a few times a year. Most commercially prepared teas are sold in tea bags, though loose tea can be had in some supermarkets as well as in bulk food and specialty shops. We are fortunate to have a lot of choice, and a reasonable price. |
