There was a time when I often have nightmarish dreams about a Zombie Apocalypse. I would often find myself trapped in a small room with my family and we would all be quiet because there are plenty of Zombies walking or running around outside.

I always would see myself trying to think how we can all get out and get food but the minute that we walk out the room the zombies would be everywhere and we’d be running for our lives.

Then I came across a website, it’s called dreammoods.com. I don’t know if you’ve heard of it but this humble website is actually quite useful. Anyway, my dream meant that I was often overwhelmed with the reality of my life. I remember having those dreams when I was still working as a supervisor in an insurance company where I will often get a complaint because the insurance is either not paying or paying too little. I get to deal with people who are so angry at the company they literally will blame me for everything.

I wouldn’t say that the website’s interpretation of my dream was accurate but it sure helped me understand a little of what’s going on inside my head while I sleep.

How about you?

I am not sure if there are ancient dream interpretation for the zombie. Some of the times the zombie apocalypse is something many people have in dreams. I am not sure how it is being interpreted. That being said, there are plenty of zombie movies. But it just means that there is some sort of fear being behind you. And you as a person chasing the zombies all over. So that could be one reason that maybe one having these days.

Maybe that or I could just be afraid of them personally. I don’t know.

I like learning about dream though, whether what they say is true or not, I still think that somehow these dreams are telling us something.

I have a dream like that before and that is after I watched this certain movie that has a lot of zombie in it. My dream was about me and a friend trapped in this old house. It looks creepy. We turned off the lights after finding out that there are lots of zombie waiting quietly outside. I think they are waiting for their leader to come before they make a move. It was all sudden that the leader appeared and they never stop banging the door. I don’t know what to do. I was like frightened so much, my stomach starts to get hurt, and I can’t breathe. I don’t know how I woke and I am glad I did woke up. I don’t want to watch movie with zombies because I always had a bad dream after.

Wow that one scary dream – nightmare I should say. In reality, I’m actually not afraid of zombies cause I know they are not real and if they ever become real in the future, I’m probably long gone by then. But when you dream about being trapped in a place with no escape, it’s kind of hard to keep in control. And the fear of being their alone (or with someone) makes the nightmare seem real.

Maybe, in real life you tend to get scared easily that’s why watching a scary flick like a zombie movie can give you nightmares. Watch something light instead – like comedy. 🙂

Considering zombies are part of human imagination. And they are not representing any symbol. I think it’s kind of hard to find out what they actually mean. Maybe something like succubus symbolism can be explained. but zombies are indeed harder to interpret. And that is one reason i think I personally find those sort of dreams creepy. Be it zombie or any other creature, the blood sucking part is indeed creepy. I wish I would never get dreams such as that, it makes me cringe.

@Mahesh

the only thing scary about having these kinds of dreams is how real they feel. It’s a mental state which makes you feel, smell, taste and experiences the horrors. But since zombies are kind of new, I understand why it is difficult to interpret. To me, however, they represent things I cannot control. So maybe a part of my waking life is “out-of-my-control” and I feel bad about it so I manifest them in dreams.
