Work Makes Men and Women Great on Earth and in Heaven

 

When Adam was in the Garden of Eden his main duty was to water the Eden plants day and night and their pruning according to season. God created Eve Adam’s partner to remove his loneliness. But when Adam and Eve were living together in Eden, Adam’s duty was to protect Eve from Satan.

Since man’s creation man is working on earth alone or in groups to earn his livelihood. But is a fact that work b e paid or unpaid but it is better for our mental health and spiritual health. Work increases our pleasure because after working we get its reward in guise of money. Work makes men and women perfect in their respective fields.

I have seen some old people who busy working remain full of pleasure and those who do not work remain ill and prey to different diseases and loneliness. The main reason of this is that they have nothing to do at homes and out of homes. They sometimes sit here and sometimes sit there but time does not pass and they feel boredom and loneliness and become sad.

Once I read the book written by Bertrand Russell “The Conquest of Happiness” is one of the best books ever written on how to achieve pleasure and money on earth.

Now I think to write the gist of the book for the readers so that they could know the merits of work and demerits of work. I think, work is better than doing nothing whether be work unpaid but gives pleasure surely. That is why I work daily 20 hours and sleep just four hours.

According to Russell, work is a source of happiness and a source of self respect and through work we earn extra bucks in practical field. Along with it we create new skills and contacts with people in working field on which our earning and learning depend. In the broader sense, celebrity lies in work and the top most advantage of work is that it is an outlet of dissolving boredom that we get when we do nothing in extra time. Therefore doing is better than doing nothing in idle hours even work is uninteresting but it is more useful for health, wealth and fame. As the text shows:

“The desire that men feel to increase their income is quite

as much a desire for success as for the extra comforts

that is higher income can procure.”

Work is running the whole world therefore to add charm in work two things are most important, skill and construction in work. It is a fact that the exercise of skill makes work enjoyable and develops related skill of the workers. That is why, an all rounder has better chances of landing jobs and pleasure than a specialized worker in practical field On the other hand, constructiveness leads workers to other successes and along with it gives pleasure of heart and soul, destructiveness leads workers to failures in life- missions. Therefore, always start work systematically. AS the text shows:

“Two chief elements make work interesting:

First the exercise of skill, and second, construction.”

Those that have freedom of speech are happy like intellectuals and literary people. But philosophers and politicians, thinkers and poets are unhappy due to expressing their thoughts, feelings and emotions plus their revolutionary ideas in their writings before the people of the country. Therefore, they are criticized bitterly by the governments just to reform the societies of the world. So they have to write against their conscious just to feed their children and family. Otherwise, they do not want to do anything wrong knowingly but circumstances compel them to do so. As the text shows:

“One of the causes of unhappiness among intellectual……

Whose skill is literary…..fond no opportunity for

the independent exercise of their talents.”

According to Russell, doing something is must to get pleasure of life and life is a blend of glee and gloom. Therefore, to activate the whole body we must do work boring or none-boring. Even a non-boring work gives money and respect in society in which the worker is living. Work provides a better relief from boredom fills non-working hours full of pleasures. Therefore, grand essentials to create happiness in life is doing something to live, something to hope for and nothing else in this world.

To sum up, according to Russell, two things are most important for a work, skill and constructiveness. Skill makes the worker perfect and contractiveness leads the worker to other successes in life. Secondly, doing something is better than doing nothing in idle hour. Thirdly, respect and celebrity lie in work including money for comforts.
