Most people didn’t think that Trump would be a candidate, much less win. He was too crude, too racist, too misogynist, too stupid. He sounded like President Camacho in the movie Idiocrasy and had so many skeletons in his closet, from bankruptcies to corrupt bargains, to sexual harassment charges, no one expected him to win.
But he did win.
He won because a lot of people didn’t vote for Hilary. Maybe they thought she was going to win anyway so didn’t need their vote. Maybe they were angry that Bernie Sanders wasn’t the candidate, so didn’t vote.
He won because the racists had a candidate. He won because women do think they are inferior. He won because the level of dumbing down of the American public has reached its zenith.
The rest of the world may express some concern, but it’s like having to work around the bosses’ nephew. It can be done.
It is a good moment in history for the rest of the world.
The United Kingdom has pulled out of Brexit, leaving them open to new Trade Deals. The ‘anti-immigration’ groups in Europe are inspired, and Trump’s election will be beneficial. This will force leaders to check their citizen’s positions before launching their own agenda.
The 3rd and 4th World have long since moved beyond American Aid and Trade, forming links with China, which for most nations is their largest partner. From Kenya to Nigeria to Jamaica, most products are made in China. In some places, there are no appliances that come from America; be they microwaves or televisions.
The ‘moral authority’ America tried to exert has dissipated. There is no longer any remnant of morality. The guy in the White House has no more class than the drunk puking on himself outside of the rum bar.
With the anti-immigrant policy, the best and brightest may no longer be abducted by American companies, meaning their expertise will benefit their home nation, not the Unites States.
For many years people have not considered voting important. “They’re all the same..” has become the expression. Now, those words fall flat. If one steps back, a Trump can enter.
The protests can fill cities, and the attempt to show the world that not everyone is a Trumpist, but he’s there and will be there for the next four years.
