West Indies Ripped Apart the Scotland batting

In the 23rd match of the ICC cricket world cup, Scotland was against the West Indies team. This game was played on Grace Road, Leicester, England on 27th May, 1999.

Scotland won the toss and opts to bat first, so West indies will bowl first and they will try to chase whatever total Scotland gets for them.

This is how Scotland team and 11 were looking like: John Blain, Gavin Hamilton, Ian Stanger, James Brinkley, Mike Allingham, Asim Butt, Alec Davies (wk), Nick Dyer, George Salmond (c), Mike Smith, Greig Williamson

And West Indies team and 11 were looking like: Brian Lara (c), Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Courtney Walsh, Phil Simmons,Curtly Ambrose, Jimmy Adams, Stuart Williams, Sherwin Campbell, Ridley Jacobs (wk), Reon King, Hendy Bryan

Scotland was off to a worst possible start and West Indies bowlers were bowling so well, Scotland lost their first 5 wickets for only 25 runs in 20.3 over’s and then kept losing wickets again and again never looked settled and eventually were bowled out for a lowest score of  International Cricket Council Cricket World Cup of 1999. They were bowled out for only 68 runs in 31.3 over’s and were top scored by Gavin Hamilton who made 24 runs in 43 balls with 3 4’s and strike rate of 56 runs in 100 balls and For West Indies C Ambrose was the pick of the bowler who got 2 wickets by only conceding 8 runs in his 10 over’s and C Walsh picked 3 wickets by only conceding 7 runs in his 7 over’s.

West Indies were only required to get 69 runs in 50 over’s to win this game.

West Indies Got the target in only 10.1 over’s and won the game by 8 wickets in hand and also with 239 balls still remaining to play in the full allotted 50 over’s of the game.

C Walsh was the Man of the match for his fine spell of fast bowling and keep the Scotland batted apart with his bowling.
