In a society shifting from traditional to modern perspectives, acceptance is not always easy.
We have been so accustomed to the social norm. We still believe that a girl could only be asked out on a date by the opposite sex. We might also believe that if you are pretty and famous, you don’t have to be smart. When you ride on a skateboard, you are a delinquent and must be put in a counseling office.
Society is often quick to generalize that people who act differently from what it perceives to be normal are bad influences. Society judges people negatively because they usually look at the bad side of an individual. Why it’s more convenient for society to figure out the negative things about a person remains a question.
The mentality that it is better to follow what society deems fit than to be called weird because you acted differently has to stop. Society often forgets that each of us is different.
Will there be harm if we choose to be different? Will others be harmed if we act differently? Is there a benefit if we defy the social norm?
Being different is a form of self-expression. There is no harm if we show others that we are not one-dimensional. I believe that it is not a sin and we cannot hurt other people if we show that we do not have to follow what the majority does for us to belong and be “cool.” Some of us are more confident if they deviate from what society dictates as the right behavior.
What is more important is we live our lives the way we want. We can defy social standard of living and change what society think of us. Just make sure that the things we do differently are for the better.
Those who are tired of the routine and want to shake things up a little, remember you are the captain of your life and society has no right to tell you how you can live it. Look at the benefits that you can derive from being different or by simply being yourself. Keep in mind that being different from others doesn’t mean being bad.
You have a choice- you can live adhering to the norms or you can resist it. Just remember that when you resist the societies wants you to be, you won’t harm others.

I must agree that people are made different from one another , not only in the physical appearance but on their preferences and opinions.
Given that, we should respect one another.
As for me, i choose to do things according to the norm, because i don't want to be condemned and even avoided by other people because i do the opposite things.
@DINA, THANK YOU FOR THAT IDEA ABOUT MY TOPIC.
INDEED, WE SHOULD RESPECT EACH OTHER.
AND FOR YOUR OPINION OF DOING THINGS, I CANNOT SAY YOU ARE WRONG BECAUSE THAT IS YOU. THAT IS HOW YOU SEE THINGS TO DO. THAT IS HOW YOU DEAL WITH YOUR DAILY LIFE. THAT IS WHO YOU ARE. NO MATTER WHAT YOU CHOOSE, NO ONE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO SAID NO TO YOUR CHOICE.
