Waiting to give birth

It is 3:30am here. I will need to be in the hospital by 5:00am later. It is a schedule c-section, and the surgery will start at 7:30am. I can’t eat and even drink plain water since 12:00am. I have already packed my hospital bag. I will only need to take a shower and wash my hair later, since I might not be able to do so in a few days later after the surgery. So now, I am just waiting for the time to pass, and get ready to go to the hospital at 4:30am. One more hour for me to go.

I have eaten something simple before 12:00am, and drank a lot of water before I went to sleep. I tried to sleep early tonight, but I couldn’t really fall asleep. Even though I slept after 12:00am, I do know if I did sleep, as I kept looking at the clock after 10 or 20 minutes. But, I feel good now, I do not feel tired at all. I guess I am just too excited to wait for the time to get ready to see my baby.

My children are very excited to see the little brother as well. They have been talking for months, and when it gets nearer to the delivery date, they are even more excited, especially when we are preparing for the baby’s stuffs. They have been so helpful to help me in doing the laundry and packing the baby’s stuffs as well. They even set up the playpen on their own!

My parents are here already. They will be taking care of me for a month. Chinese called the this whole month after baby’s birth confinement period, as there are some rules to follow. Though I do not follow most of the rules, my mom will be here cooking for me and helping out whenever necessary. I am thankful for my parents, especially my mom, so I will have more time to rest and get connected with my baby and perhaps my children too.

I can’t believe it is already 39 weeks. My baby has been with me for 39 weeks, and it’s time for us to meet each other, and get connected for the rest of my life. I am very grateful for receiving this precious gift and getting ready to spend time with him, learn and grow together with him, along with my another two children as well. This is another page of my life, for being a mother to three children. It might be quite challenging at the beginning, but I am sure I will be learn to juggle everything on my plate soon. I believe I am only given things that I can handle, so when they are here for me, that means I will be capable of taking good care of them.

There are still lots of undone things left behind, as usual. It does not matter anymore, I will just get myself ready to enter the labor ward, and come home later to take care of all these.

Waiting to give birth is really an excitement moment, though it might also be a little nervous. 😀

    • yup, go to sleep my friend, even though you are not sleepy, at least close your eyes, let your body rest because your baby needs a rest too.

I pray for your smooth delivery and quick recover too.
Glad to hear that you parents are here now.

You are lucky that your parents are there with you.

Will your mom or hubby be by your side in the labor room?
Maybe not since you will be in "sleeping mode" for the C Sec.
Best of luck and smile, say thanks to God when you first look at your baby!!
