Google photos is the application like gallery. You can see all your photos and videos in it. Plus point is that by adding your Google account in it you can store your important photos and videos on Google server. By this way you will never lose them.
Google drive is also good application from Google using which you can store anything on it and access it from anywhere using the internet. So by this way you can backup more efficiently. By anything I mean you can add photos, videos, documents, pdf files, etc just by adding them on Google drive account. After that you can access it on any computer by opening your Google drive account. And let me tell you adding file in this application is really easy.
So this is it. I think internet is the safest place to backup your data. I am saying this because other physical items like pen drive, cds and hard disk can get damaged somehow. But files on internet will be there forever. So better we store some important things on internet.

They have made things really easy for us that we can have our data online and use them any time with any device.
