If you are an Overseas Filipino Workers and somehow the airport personnel tried to extort money from you through the bullet planting modus, fear no more, President Rody Duterte is here, the hero of the day, and he has some unconventional advice to follow when that incident happen.
Slap him.
That’s how the President of the Philippines told the OFW in Japan—when someone extort money or ask ‘pasalubong’ from you—slap that person.
Second option—‘create a scene’. You curse that personnel, shout out loud and act misbehave until the people turn to look at you or the news reporter of different TV and radio stations notice you. This is how you escape being victimized by the bullet planting modus operandi.
Yes, this is the unorthodox words of Mr. Duterte to the OFW. In this manner, the President will also know the incident and he will personally address the problem. He may fire the airport personnel or even slap them himself.
It’s Christmas season and many workers, migrants and citizens from abroad flock the country. We call them ‘balikbayan’—the time when they want to visit their families and relatives and be with them during this time of season. Brought with them are large of packages which we call ‘balikbayan box where lots of things, stuff and foods are put in there to be given to their relatives.
During the last administration, the ‘tanim bala’ modus operandi was one of the biggest news in the country because of an alleged syndicate and personnel and cohorts of airport planting a bullet in the bag and boxes. Someone will approach you and then telling you a bullet was found in your luggage. To avoid filing of criminal case in the court, you will be force to pay large amount of money for you to be allowed to travel or go home.
Well, surely this is a big relief to the OFW who will have vacation in the Philippines now.

Very nice and well done the president of Philippine President Rody Duterte expressed his feelings about OFW is a brave statement and en courageous step for the defense of Philippine workers.
Actually the president wanna say to the overseas Philippine workers that of someone grabs your money you at once slap his mouth to protect his money and body but if you cannot do so , you must making a noise on the road to call for the people to support.
The best counsel is giving the president of Philipino slap or make a noise to protect self. I think this statement will encourage the overseas workers's hearts.
Every president must do so to encourage the inhabitants of any country living abroad to earn bread and butter for the families.
Many overseas workers will be anxious to meet their friends and family and if Airport Authorities rob these people of their hard earned money there is no meaning of visiting this place. That is why there are many people who are avoiding to visit Philippines nowadays.
There is a drop of 12% overseas workers this year as compared to the last year.
No doubt, Mr. Rody Duterte is right in giving such advice but the problem is how and when they will use this technique is beyond the comprehension of a traveler. It has become an inevitable evil. Nobody will put the Bullet in the luggage right in front of the visitor. If it is noticed then only the advice can work out properly.
