Types Of Hair According to Geographical Aspect

When you are roaming around the city, you will probably see people with different hair style, and different color. Yes! People are of different hair type. All hair are created differently.

BASIC STRUCTURE OF HAIR.

  • The follicle in the outer part of our skin is where hair grows.
  • The hair strand of the hair is consists of three layers, the medulla, the cortex, and the cuticle. The medulla is the first layer the innermost of the hair and is only present in thick hair. The cortex is the middle layer, which provides the color, texture, and strength of the hair. The cuticle is the outermost part of the hair and it is completely colorless. The cuticle protects the cortex.
  • Each hair strand is made up of protein and it is called keratin.

TWO BASIC TYPE OF THE HAIR

  1. VELLUS HAIR- It is the hair that can be found all over our body. It is short and soft.
  2. TERMINAL HAIR- These are hair that grows on the armpits, head, pubic hair chest and face (commonly on the men’s chest and face). It is long and thick.

TYPE OF HAIR ACCORDING TO GEOGRAPHICAL ASPECT

  • African origins have a flat strand of hair that is why it is curly and frizzy.
  • For Asian origins, the strands of their hair are thicker than the other hair types and are round. However, those Asian with red head have the thickest hair among all types of hair.
  • For European origins who have dark and blonde hair, the strands of their hair are thinner and are usually round or oval in shape.

Though sometimes, there are those with mix genes and their hair may somewhat blond and curly frizzy, or thick and curly, and so on.

So, if you are from Asia, from Europe, or From Africa, you can now identify the type of your hair. You are not anymore wonder if your hair is different from your neighbor.
