Writing for the web is different from writing for school assignments.
When you are writing for the web, you have to use simple words, and write clearly.
That means you avoid using jargons unless you are writing for a specific group of people.
People are very impatient when they are online searching for information.
They tend to scan rather than read the content.
They do not want to spend five minutes reading. When they see a paragraph with 10 sentences jam together, they will just close the page.
They will not even want to start reading the first line in the paragraph, and definitely not the whole article.
They want to know everything they can within ten seconds of scanning the information.
That is why your main points must stand out.
You can use bullet points when you are writing for the web. You use bullet points when you want to help the readers.
The only time when you do not use bullet points is that you are writing for income only.
That is the time when you write long sentences, and the purpose of the writing is to get the relevant advertisements to come out.
That is how the online writers make money. They get readers to click on the advertisements instead of reading their articles to find the solution.
If you sincerely want to help the readers, you do not do that.
You write in bullet points so that you help the readers to grasp the main points, and move to another article if they want to learn more.
In life, hardly anyone speaks with perfect English.
When you are writing for the web, there is no one to give you marks for spelling or grammar.

I find it interesting that you mention we should drop bullet points if writing purely for cash. I hadn't really thought of it that way, but it does make sense.

Since advertisements usually are based on the keywords, you will need to have all the keywords in the right place, particularly near the places where the advertisements are.
