Tips On Studying and while Reviewing

Studying is a way for you to gain knowledge, This habit will be helpful in your performance in class. To study is to learn new things, to expand the knowledge we know before and through studying the uncertainties are being clarified. So basically Studying is important, however students nowadays tend to choose recreational activities and social media over studying lesson. Here are some tips you could use in order for you to avoid procrastinating in Studying:

 Have enough time to study

Never study at the last minute because it might just confuse your brain making it forget the information you tried to remember. Other students may find “cramming” as an easier and convenient way to pass the exam, but they’re thinking the wrong way. Cramming doesn’t stock the knowledge you gained. The best way to avoid cramming is to have an organized time allotted for your “review period”. I suggest you to have a personal planner so that you can write all the things you have to do and not forget it specially your examinations. After reviewing you can have a bar of chocolate. This helps your brain to think well or have a gum! Chewing the same flavor of gum when you review might help you remember the information you need to fill up on your actual test! You may also rest or relax in a minute after digesting all the information you’ve taken. Do not Stress yourself, Always make things balance in reviewing.

 Have a good place to study

– Make sure that you a comfortable place where you need to place all your books and notes. Your bedroom is not an advisable place to stay when studying but you may study there if you have a study table. Never ever study on your bed because it might just temp you to sleep while reading. Keep all the Distraction away from while studying. If it’s possible have a place where you can place all your gadgets for you to avoid checking the notifications you received from your mobile phone or ipad. This may help you to focus more on what you are reviewing and hopefully to have the right answers written in your test paper the next day.

 Using of Graphic organizers

– This Visual aids may help you understand the things you review in an easy way. Test yourself by writing all the things you already know about your lesson through diagrams, bullets etc. then read your book to have additional information. Remember to understand what you are reading. It’s better to understand than memorize! Don’t be shy to speak even when you are alone. Discuss the things to yourself based on how you understand it. Through this process, It will help you recall the things you reviewed easily while taking your exam. You may also use highlighters pens since these are stuffs I use to help me remember the important information in the book.

 Have a “look back”
– Try recalling the past you had by looking over your old test papers. This will help to familiarize more with the question and be aware with your past mistakes on the item. Make sure to find the reason why you had the wrong answer in the certain item and don’t forget to take note of it to avoid having the same mistake on your test. You may also browse through your “course outline” this the list of your lessons given every first meeting of the quarter so that students will be update or be aware of the lessons that they will taking up in a certain subject. Or if you have an older sibling, you may ask their old notes (if they are still kept in place).

 Healthy Snack

– This is certainly important! Having a healthy diet makes our body stronger and do our activities better. Having a healthy diet and eating the right healthy food while reviewing make our brain think better because of the nutrients provided by the food we eat. There are a lot of nutritious foods that helps our brain memory last longer and helps us to concentrate better, some of these are nuts, almonds, fish, yogurts, berries and apples. These foods provides energy in a slow manner which can help you keep up plus it’s healthier than candies or chocolates. I also suggest you to drink a green tea before reviewing so that your anxiety and stress will be lessen. This is to help you become relaxed. And and and and and and and and and nad Never forget to drink plenty glasses of water. At least 8 glasses a day.

 Breaks
– Always manage your time while reviewing, studying Straight for a long period of time without any breaks might just cause you to forget all the information you remembered while studying. You at least have a span off 10 – 20 minutes break before resuming to another topic. This will help your brain to digest the information. If you feel like studying is better at morning have enough sleep at night. But if you feel like night is the best time to study your lessons, make sure to not make yourself too tired the whole day. Have a rest after school, eat and drink a lot of water then set an alarm at night, the best time when you think that it is already time for studying. Remember to not pressure yourself that much

 Start the “review period” a week before the exams

– Cramming is never good way of studying. Make sure to do all the reviewing a week before the examination specially if it is a term test. Do not Review The day before the exam and of course never ever review the minute before the main exams. Make sure that you are a hundred percent ready before taking the exams. Have your materials ready in your bag like pencil, eraser, sharpener, 2 sheets of long bond paper for scratch , snack, and of course yourself. And don’t forget to pray and ask for guidance. Goodluck Examinee!!
