There are many things we learned in school for which we have to change now. I am learning lot of things that we understood in school turned out to be completely different. And for this I am learning my lessons. And finding out how to unlearn some of the stuff in school. I just don’t know how much time I have to spend on learning what works in real life. Because learning outside the school is far more important. In this article I am going to explain some of the things that I learned in school. And I want to share with you how those things mattered a lot in that time but not much anymore.
Calculators
When we were in school, many of us realized that our parents, teachers wanted us to learn how to do math on our own. But as we graduate and work in real life. We use calculator all the time. And for more accuracy there are even better tools out there. So I think the assumption of learning math for life does not hold true. Many people learn math but don’t use it and instead rely on the calculator for their daily usage.
Dinosaurus
Some of the misconception about dinosaurs is from the religious groups. However we all through they were all dead. But today we still some of the dinosaur era animals such as whale, alligator, rhino, birds etc. These are the only evolved species which still show the resemblance with the extinct dinosaurs and that’s definitely something many of us would be surprised to find out.
Life requires sunlight
This is not true. There are many fish and species underwater which require no sunlight. And they are alive because they are dependent on the dead animals who float above and when died go underwater. So that’s one thing that we learned in school may end up changing in real life. You can guess that life outside our planet is something that is changed too. But many of us don’t want to admit that part.
Wikipedia is Accurate
One of the biggest lie that is being told to us is that Wikipedia is accurate. In real life, the wikipedia has more lies than any other online website. It has lot of inaccurate stuff. And often the left wing thinking is being propagated through the wikipedia. Lot of laws and personal commentary is added to the Wikipedia. And that’s one of the thing that is gone wrong with the Wikipedia page there as well.
Pluto
There is a lot of money wasted in trying to find out if the Pluto is a planet or not. I think that’s one of the reasons why the pluto is still being treated as one in many schools. Today Pluto is treated as dwarf planet. And many other scientists are trying to get it off 9 planets model. Considering there is a lot of time and energy wasted in school , I don’t think dwarf vs real planet debate is going to end up soon.
These are some of the good facts about the earth that we learned in school. And many misconceptions were formed over the years. And as we learn ahead, we make the corrections to what we learned earlier.

Outside of our school, we were taught by our parents how to be polite to elders and say please which is" po" and "opo" in Tagalog when speaking to them.
We learned how to sweep the floor of the ouse using a soft broom and at the garden , using a hard broom, which are made of the midribs of the leaves of coconut.
We were also taught by our parents how to wash the dishes manually. I think those in abroad , they taught their children how to operate the dish washer.
Oh there really are a lot of things we learn outside of school and we call it , learning through experience. And as the saying goes, experience is the best teacher.
Well, in a way yes. But we need to really go to school to study and have a nice job.
