How to Stop Saying Hurtful Words

 

Whenever you are in a bad mood, your temper rise and without realizing that you had lashed hurtful words at someone when you don’t really mean it.

 

 

What is done, it is done.

You can’t reverse the whole situation and you knew that this is not the first time.

Humans are born to make mistakes, even Adam and Eve did it.

Can you stop yourself from saying hurtful words towards your family members and loved ones the next time when you are involved in an argument or when your temper is bad?

Yes you can.

But first, find out the reasons behind your “Adult Temper”

 

Are you afraid of other people

Isn’t it ironic that when you are in a very foul mood, you will still try your very best to keep your cool when you meet your clients, colleagues and your BOSS?

 

You wouldn’t lash out hurtful words towards the innocent people who are not involved in your bad mood.

You will not show your adult temper towards the cashier of a supermarket or the waiter serving you in a restaurant.

 

 

Why?

 

 

  • You are not afraid but ashamed of your bad attitude which is childish.
  • You do not want to embarrass yourself in the public eye of you.
  • You want to show other people that you are good at temper management

 

 

Reasons for adult temper

 

An adult temper is often associated with:

  1. unresolved issues at work
  2. family problem
  3. unsatisfied of own self behavior
  4. boss unsatisfied with your work process
  5. unable to meet monthly goal to close deals
  6. frequent repeated same mistakes
  7. unable to concentrate well at work and at home
  8. unable to control stress
  9. communication breakdown at work with BOSS and colleagues
  10. different opinion which leads to no final decision after negotiation
  11. nagging issue about kids’ school work
  12. misbehaving and noisy kids at home
  13. noisy pets, irritating and troublesome
  14. messy home, not comfortable when reaching home
  15. meals not ready in time upon reaching home, hungry with anger

Step Away.

When you are angry with the current situation that is undesirable, leave the location immediately before you start lashing hurtful words at your loved ones.

 

Solve the Problem.

This may be hard but it is wise to keep your hurtful words aside and start solving the problems with your solutions. Instruct them what to do and make sure they perform the task immediately without delay.

 

Take a deep breath.

When you going to explode those hurtful words, stop yourself, shut your mouth, take a deep breath and exhale. You will feel better. Close your eyes for a few minutes. When you are closing your eyes, your loved ones know that you are trying to reduce your temper. That is a signal to tell them to stop the nonsense and don’t test your patience.

 

Think before you speak.

Try to sort out the words carefully before you speak. Some hurtful words are not meant to be spoken even the situation turned upside down. Do not use threatening words which is often the biggest mistake.

 

Conclusion

Whenever I had argument with my loved ones, I would try my best to shut up first.

take a deep breath and listen before I decide whether to talk or not.

Sometimes walking away is the best solution to stop yourself from saying hurtful words.

Otherwise, just mumble to yourself with those hurtful words AWAY from them.

They can’t hear you!
