There are plenty of resources for stock images. And these days many of the stock images don’t even need the credit. However you have to make sure that you are not downloading the image with wrong license. So make sure that when you are into such site be sure to check the license. And if it is free then and only then go for the stock photography. In this short article, I’ll point you to some of the resources from where you can download the stock images.
Unsplash
This site has some of the best resources out there for stock photography. You’d find some of the classic images that you can reuse in many ways. You can also find that it has wide range of photography categories. Though it does not have niche specific images. But now with new images added they are covering a lot of images. And the best part about the site is that you can use image the way you want. Unsplash makes it really easy to use the images. As the images are released in public domain, you’d find it easy to use the stock images on any site of your choice. There are not restrictions at all.
Pixabay
I personally use this site a lot. The reason being it pulls free images from flickr and some other sites. Lot of variety in terms of images. Also you’d find that there are license details explained. You can either download the image or link to it. And the best part about the images is that they have better quality. As the free public domain images having such quality makes it much better option. I’d say pixabay is definitely a good option for those who want large database of the images. I would say you can use their images safely knowing that there are not copyright issues. Just make sure you are not downloading the shutterstock image ads from the site.
Pexels
After unsplash, this is another photo gallery site that has some nice photos. They have large coverage of quality photos. They have mostly the images in travel, photography and the food type. There are many other types too but depending on the niche, you’d not find big library of images. But overall, a good site with lot of images data. I’d say there are some really good database that helps you pick the image that can be useful. Pexels also seem to be sharing most of the images in the creative commons. So I suggest you to check the site on the pexels. It has a nice database worth checking out.
These are some of the sites that can be a good option for posting the images on the site. Make sure you do read the license with the images.

It is useful to have this reference. I prefer to use my own pictures, but lately I have realised I do not have the skills to get to a really professional quality. I'm always nervous of downloading and using something with the wrong licence though and frequently start of thinking I found a free picture only to realise I have to pay.
I thinks you 'd like to know i am a strong critic, yeah critics make you a better person in whatever you are doing!!
I had thought that the first thing you supposed to have done is to let us know what stock photos are, cos as it stands now - i am more confused now than i was before reading this post, you can't just start writing avenues where we get stock photos without letting us know what stock photos are.
P.S: just my mind!!
I tried looking at unsplash for some photos, after I have read this post. They are with names though under them. Then, it only means we cannot use them because somebody owns them.
I am more comfortable with pixabay and using my own photos which I take through my smartphone.
Sometimes, I go to google and get those images already there. Is it safe to get those images from google?
