Spending too Much Time Online Isn’t Healthy

It’s a terrible thing when being online is stressful. It’s even worst when there’s websites that could care less about how their site is managing. When payments to certain members can be stalled and when the members can behave in any manner. It’s hard to imagine how some sites stay afloat. When traffic is low advertisers are unwilling to pay. They’ll want to put their money on sites that will gain lots of traffic. Finding creative ways to boost up the site.

Being online should be an enjoyable experience. With the high rate of cyber bullying and the need of control. Being online can be annoying at times. Taking some time out helps. We can’t live our lives in cyberspace. There’s life outside of websites, online activities, and for some online games which doesn’t appeal to me. I’ve experienced more harassment and bullying then one could imagine but still I’m using technology. Yes. Some of the people use technology are just pitiful. It’s as if no one is living anymore. I’ve read some of the gardening stories and yet it doesn’t seem as if they’re really into gardening.

It’s so extreme that having to go the legal route may be necessary and so many are having to do such a thing. A teenage boy was being bullied on a social media site and his parents had to open up a lawsuit. People aren’t concerned about what others are going through. If there’s a need to be a nuisance then that’s what they’ll be. There needs to be more moderators and the cyber police should be more involved.

If a group of people want something their way then they will use bullying as a form to whatever they’re seeking. Sometimes people should get tired of playing. Get tired of the same old same old. No compassion or understanding. There’s more people online trying to use others. Whatever they can gain that’s what they will try to gain. I’ve deleted and block more people then probably anyone online. More to come.

No one should feel overwhelmed online. That’s not how things are suppose to be. Our online experiences should be enjoyed. Too many people have suffered a great deal of stress by being online. Some have shut down their computers for months at a time due to the stress that can occur online. What’s making so many people display nuisance behavior? Perhaps not being satisfied with their lives could be one reason. Another could have to do with the just because they’re able to do so.

There’s some peaceful places online. One would have to visit those places so that they’re not consumed with stress. When there’s bullying, people become distant, and are very leery about others. The trust issues come into play because of all the bad experiences. What can we do about all of the bullying and online trolls. For now blocking will help and if it’s forums and websites then it may be time to leave those areas. Too much stress is unhealthy.

Breaking away from technology is helpful. Spending time doing other things will help rejuvenate our minds and bodies. If we’re able to do without then that’s what we need. There’s life to be lived and consuming ourselves with technology is extremely unhealthy. Perhaps reading a good book or listening to soothing music would be of great benefit. Some are so unhappy that they’ll use technology to try and get others down.

Removing ourselves from certain environments is very beneficial. No need to linger in a place that isn’t adding substance to our lives. It’s so unfortunate that some are unable to have a great experience online. Unfortunate trolling is apart of cyberspace. Trolling can be controlled but until online sites implement tougher rules then there will be horse playing going on. Yes, some users are older, and they will want to play some. Some people become bored easily and taunting others is a way for those individuals to have some fun. Fun. fun, fun.

    • I spend most of my time working online, with the exception of Sundays and Wednesday nights after Bible study. Have no issues with stress, cyber bullying, etc. When people act negative towards me and make distasteful remarks, etc., I click the OFF button in my brain. Sorry. I don't have time. I got work to do!! If the other mean person had productive work to do too, they wouldn't be expending their energy doing dumb stuff like picking on people they probably don't even know! As for its effects on my health for sitting too long all day, reading and typing (and watching videos)? (Yawn.) I'm too old to care. :)

    • I agree with you treathyle Fox, many people work a lot on the net actually for some it's like their life depends on it, so staying away is like torture for them. The net is a media platform for everyone to do and say whatever they want. So someone just needs to be careful with the friends they make on different sites on the net, that way you are able to put tabs on everyone you chat with. One thing the internet can have all sorts of frustrating issues but the best way to avoid problems is to shut your ears from anything negative

      • Before there was eMail and the Internet, there was the telephone. In my old jobs, I spent a lot of time on the phone working with co-workers all around the United States. Never physically met some of them until long after we have developed a good working relationship. Either they came on a business travel trip to where I was working or I made an official trip to their workplace. It's all about establishing a line of communication, working together, and getting the job done. It's just that some folks think they can “hide” using the Internet and it gives them a license to do things to you that they would not do to your face. Those kind of people are just silly! I can't say “childish” because I have a grandchild, about 7 years old, who handles herself on the Internet in a more mature manner than some grown folks!

    • Spending too much time on internet is injurious to our mental and physical heath because man is the man'd peace of heart and mind and inanimate things cannot speak to men just like computer does not talk to men but we read the computer in lone.

I read once in the magazine that Researchers at the University of Gothenburg found that those who constantly use a computer or their mobile phone can develop stress, sleeping disorders and depression.
The team studied the habits of more than 4,100 Swedish men and women, aged between 20 and 24, over the course of a year to reach this conclusion.

'It was easy to spend more time than planned at the computer (e.g., working, gaming, or chatting), and this tended to lead to time pressure, neglect of other activities and personal needs (such as social interaction, sleep, physical activity), as well as bad ergonomics, and mental overload.'
The study also found a correlation between stress and always being available on the phone, especially regarding the burden of guilt for not replying to messages.

Even people who played video games online faced a greater risk of suffering from depression, with Thomee saying: 'Daily computer gaming for 1–2 hours meant an increased risk for symptoms of depression in the women.

'Often using the computer late at 48 night (and consequently losing sleep) was a prospective risk factor for stress and sleep disturbances, including reduced performance, in both sexes.'
The team said people need to set limits on the time they spend in front of a screen or phone, and limit demands on their availability to avoid mental disorders.
