I am a Filipino and I am proud of being one. Aside from those many tourist spots that one can see in our country, there are many qualities, traits, and characteristics of a Filipino that are liked by other foreign people. Some of it are the following:

1. Filipinos are very hospitable. Yes, we are known because of that trait. That quality cannot be removed in our system. Every time we have visitors, we probably treat them very special. We even cook the best food for them, clean the biggest wide room for them, and we even feed them very well. When we see someone like wanderers, we usually welcome them in our house.
2. We, Filipinos are very optimistic. No matter how hard life is, no matter how many typhoons will destroy our houses and properties, we are still smiling despite it all.
3. We respect elders. Filipinos are respectful. Most children are afraid to show madness with elders. We also have the habit of kissing our grandma and grandpa’s hands for a sign of asking for their blessing.
4. We are also resourceful. We are creative in our own way. We could utilize things that are available in substitute to the supposedly needed thing.
5. We treasure every culture we have.
6. Filipinos have strong family ties.
7. Filipinos maintain a strong work ethics. Filipinos have the heart to extend a hand to co-workers who are in need of help.
8. We are so grateful even for small blessings. Saying thank you is very easy for us to say. We even give tokens to tourists whenever they visit our place as a sign of how thankful we are for visiting.
9. Honest. This is one of the traits of Filipinos that I am proud of. Honesty store in Batanes, Philippines is just a proof of how honest Filipinos are. It is a store where no security guards are securing the place. The customers will just get what they want and put their money in the cashier box.
