Simple tips for you to walk smarter in your lifetime.

Very few of us actually walk with the poise that we should. We all wish we could look and pose like the models we see on the cover of magazines. They are tall, confident and glamorous- everything we ever wanted to be. But how do they achieve it? It is just because of knowing the secrets and practicing.
Being graceful isn’t just about impressing people or making them envy you. You will feel good about yourself if you know how to carry yourself. You will look good in absolutely anything you wear. You will have to spend a lot of time in front of the mirror, practicing. You will have to be aware of your posture all the time. You will have to continuously watch your body, without actually watching it.
The best way to learn how to be graceful is to learn a dance like the ballet or salsa. These dances make you move in fluidity and in a lady-like manner. It also helps in removing rigidity from your body. The dances require you to move freely and not like a robot. Monitor your progress in front of the mirror. When you see that you are moving smoothly, you have got it.
You can practice your walk around the house. Try not to collide into anything. Walk at your normal speed. Do not walk in slow motion. Nobody does that on a daily basis. You can practice good posture by walking with a heavy book on your head. The longer you can keep the book on your head, the better it is. You can also wear heels and practice with the book. If you are walking in flats, then put all the pressure on the balls of your feet. You should not put too much stress on your shoulders. Just keep them relaxed and lowered. Keep your neck straight and your head up. Do not take long steps. Similarly, do not take too small steps. Make sure that it feels natural. Do not lean your head forward while walking. This will make you lean entirely forward. Keep your waist movement natural. Do not force them from side to side.
If you want to wear heels, you will need to practice a little more. If you are not used to wearing heels, you will not look graceful. Instead, you will be tripping and twisting your foot all the time. Higher and sleeker heels will require more practice than shorter heels and wedges. But once you do master this, you will look even more graceful that you did with flats. If you want to stick to flats, then wear comfortable ones. Make sure your shoes fit perfectly. Look ahead, not down.
Practicing yoga will also make you feel and look graceful. It will also make you feel better psychologically. It will improve flexibility and posture. You will feel in control of your body. You may also observe your role models. You can watch videos of them walking. You should practice the same posture. Everyone who has a good posture also looks composed and confident. When you get it right, you will look great too.
Keep your diet balanced. If you have too much fat on yourself, you will not feel or look graceful even if master the posture and all. You should exercise to keep yourself toned and in shape. Only then will you be able to walk gracefully.
Do not slouch even if you are tired or sleepy. Do not drag your feet while walking. When you are walking in heels, keep your heel down first and then swiftly put your toes down. You will have to be aware of all your body parts moving in a controlled manner if you want to look graceful.
You will not look odd if you walk gracefully. Instead, you will radiate power and composure. Others will think that you are sure about yourself and will respect you.
Do not lock your knees while walking. Slight bend in the knees look good. Extend your pelvis backwards while walking. Be aware of your core muscles while walking. Also, hold your collar bones stretched out.If you want to be a model, you will have to work even harder. Models don’t put their comfort in first place. You have to get the hang of wearing high heels even if they are your last option. You have to imagine that you are walking on a straight line, and keep one foot in front of the otherwhile walking. Do not get fidgety if you are nervous. You have to learn to radiate confidence.
You should also dress gracefully if you want to look graceful overall. Wearing dark colored clothes- preferably black- will make you look slimmer and taller. Wear something that fits you well and looks good on you. Accessorize yourself accordingly. Do not carry dangly purses. Thin strapped purses look gentler. Do not wear clothes that are too bright. You do not want to attract negative attention to yourself. Take care of your skin and hair too. People will not love you or take you seriously if you do not love yourself. If you put in extra effort to look good, it shows that you take yourself seriously.
If you are not sure whether your posture and walk are up to the mark, you can always have a friend photograph or video tape you while walking. You can watch yourself and point out your own mistakes. You can then try to correct them and video tape yourself again. This will help you in continuously monitoring your progress. You should also have a record of how you stand and sit. If you are lagging behind in either, you can follow the same procedure that you did for walking.
To walk gracefully, you can imagine that you have a string attached to the top of your head that is slightly pulling you upwards. This way, you will never get tempted to lean your head forward and distort your posture. You can also visualize that you have a cross on your back. Constantly focus on keeping that cross straight, and you will never have a bad posture.Grow Taller 4 Idiots program guarantees that you can increase your height by 2-5 inches during the next 8 weeks even after puberty. When we’re walking, it’s easy to allow our thoughts to drift. Perhaps we’re thinking of all the chores we need to get done, issues with colleagues, family problems or mulling over what we’re going to have for dinner. When we think of something that makes us tense, we often start to hold our breath.

So keep breathing. Notice where you’re holding tension in your body as you walk and breathe ease into that area.2. Walk tall.
There can be such a temptation to shorten our stature by hunching down, shortening through the spine, crunching down into the hip joints. But start to be aware of all that wonderful space above your head. However, resist the temptation to pull yourself up as you walk. Rather, think of the movement as more of a gentle lengthening process in the whole body. Lead with the top of the head — not the chin or chest — keep your eyes active and just notice what you can see around you.
3. Use your back for support.
When we’re walking, our attention can become focused on the front of our bodies, especially true if we’re in a rush. But you’ll stand taller (and look more graceful) if you start to use your back muscles in the way they’re supposed to be used .
Take a step backward and just notice how this helps you feel more aware of your back. Maintain this feeling of back awareness as you take a step forward. If it helps, imagine you’re almost gently falling backward as you go forward, not enough that you fall, but just enough to engage your back muscles.
4. Keep the hip of your moving leg under your body.
Try to avoid throwing the hip of the moving leg forward as you take a step. Rather, softly bend the leg from the hip, knee and ankle joints, keeping the hip back under your body. This will help you maintain stability as you move forward.
5. Use your standing leg.
Keep your focus on the standing leg rather than the moving one as you step forward. When your attention is all on the moving leg, your standing leg is already getting ready to take the next step and you’ll be far more wobbly. Allow the standing leg to lengthen, keep a firm connection between the foot and the ground, and maintain this lengthening all the way up your body so you’re not sinking into the hip of the supporting leg.
6. Take smaller strides
Take a large step forward and just notice what happens to your lower back. You’ll probably feel a tightening or more tension in this area, as well as in the hip. Over time, this can lead to strain. So get into the habit of taking smaller steps so that your body can move with more ease.7. Walk lightly.
Peel your foot off the floor heel first as the knee moves forward rather than bringing up the entire foot in one go. Think about placing it gently on the ground. This way, you’ll avoid jarring your joints and look far more graceful and elegant.
So now you’re all set to go. For many, walking is a means to an end, getting us from one place to another. But it can also be an opportunity to use our bodies with more ease and elegance as well as becoming more mindful as we move. When Marilyn Monroe supposedly said, “give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world,” we’re fairly certain she was talking about heels. Here it is, a year later, and I’ve yet to get back to it. Starting today, I will be posting a lesson each Friday in a series that will probably last several months. These lessons, adapted from a 1962 book, were learned by our mothers and- Elbows slightly bent, palms turned in.
How does your picture compare to the one above? Good posture may feel awkward at first, but with practice it will become relaxed and natural. Become acutely aware of how you are standing and learn to remember a proper stance until it becomes second nature.
Now you’re ready to learn how to walk like a lady.A beautiful walk is the sign of a graceful, poised woman. Start in your good posture stance and follow these steps:
– Lift your thigh slightly. Don’t lead with your shoulders.
– For a feminine walk, the space between your steps should be about the length of your foot. Too long a stride is masculine, too short is mincing.
– On each step your heel should touch the floor first, then quickly shift the weight forward to the entire foot as you take the next step. Keep your feet close to the ground when you lift them.
– Arms should hang relaxed at your sides with palms toward the thighs as they swing forward to the front of your body. Shoulders should be relaxed and elbows close to your sides.
– Keep your toes pointed straight ahead and place your feet directly to the side of an imaginary line running down the center.
Clothes, make-up, jewelry…nothing makes an ordinary woman as beautiful as a proud carriage and a graceful presence. Practice your standing and walking in front of a mirror until your muscles learn the correct way to move.
Here are some examples of common walking and posture faults you should avoid. Are you moving like this?
1. The Sway Back – The tummy is thrust forward and the derriere back. The result makes the walker appear back heavy. She waddles and looks shorter, stockier, and awkward.
2. The Off-Balance – She carries too much weight on one side and rolls like a boat in a storm.
3. The Ungainly Stride – She galumphs with large steps, her torso and head behind.
4. The Bird – She walks with an out-thrust neck, sometimes looking down. She looks off balance.
5. The Bouncer – She rises on her toes and drops down on her heels. She moves forward with a rising and falling action, like a bunny hopping down the street.
Try noticing your posture and how you walk to day. Do you walk like a lady? This, has helped me, and i hope it helps you.

4. DONT attempt this in heels, clunky or stilettos, or you’ll do a Bella.
