Repurposing and Republishing Old Blog Posts, Articles and Other Content

Two years ago, when I was an active member at Persona Paper, I wrote a short post announcing my work plans for my home business projects.

It’s 2017.  A lot has happened since then. For example, Persona Paper was taken over by a new owner and the site no longer pays people to post. The cash out amount at the time was $20. I had not reached that amount. But neither did I receive payment for what I had earned before the new owner took over. The decision to change ownership and remove the payment plan led me to write another short post: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

It was not an easy decision. I really liked that community! It was the only community where people left comments at every post that I published. That had never happened at any site where I was an active member. I have joined other social sites since then and it has never happened again. I’m OK with not getting comments on my posts. In fact, I’m used to not receiving comments.  So I’m just saying that the interaction and exchange at Persona Paper was … a surprise!

Some people still post there. But once the monetary incentive was removed, I removed myself. No matter how much I liked it, I can’t work online for free. I did not know what to do with my content, so since the new owner didn’t tell me to delete it, a lot of my content is still there. Hey! The links have already been indexed by Google. Gradually, I have been removing or republishing my material elsewhere on the web. “Gradually”? Yeah. As in … it’s been two years. Took me some time to find new sites (like Literacy Base, Niume, etc.). Then once I found the sites, I had to figure out which posts were a “best fit” for which community.

  • Some posts are at my stand alone blog where I publish tips for work at home professionals and random discussion of various topics.
  • Some of the food-related posts ended up at my foodie blog.
  • Some posts found a new home at Medium.com, Niume.com, and ForumCoin.com.
  • Some of my work was completely deleted, de-indexed, and published right here at Literacy Base.

It’s disappointing and tiring. But I’m not about to let all of my work efforts go to waste and not at least earn a penny or two. To borrow a lyric from a popular song performed by Canadian singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette: “You live. You learn.”

    • Oh, thanks for this. I also signed up and had some posts at Personaper. I did not recover them yet. I might visit and retrieve some of my posts from there.
