Patience is a must fir entering the heavenly kingdom

One of the virtues we lack or are lacking in us human beings is the virtue of patience. We are an impatient people. Christ Jesus patiently awaited his Crucifixion which was for us so that we may believe in his resurrection, the proof that we can be victorious over the forces of death.

Patience allows us to be conscious of those whom we need to love and forgive as being patient takes away all unscrupulous desires. Instead we become peaceful with ourselves but more importantly with others. This will please God as we become aware of those individuals who are marginalized and oppressed by society. By being patient we allow the Spirit to animate our lives.

When we allow the Spirit to live within us we become light for the world. This Spirit will fill us with knowledge of God and joy so that we can share with one another. Also, the Spirit will guide us and inspires us in ways on how to best communicate with others which will be pleasing to God.

Patience brings peace but that does not mean that we are free from temptations and sufferings. Instead, it is when we are patient that situations and persons come at us to prevent us from being Christ-like. But the Spirit within us we are transformed in the glory of God.

Our human society is one that is filled with aggressiveness ad violence, we seek to dominate each other, rather than be co-workers with each other. Tensions drive us apart and hinder progress. However, we still need to be patient individuals for it is with a Spirit of patience that we will have to acquire, adopt and embody to enter into our permanent heavenly residence.

Everything happens for a reason and it is our duty to patiently await for this reason to be revealed to us. Our destiny was already written before we were born but as human beings with free will, we have a choice whether or not to walk the path of our destiny.

Patience opens up the door for accepting of differences and bring the gap of inequality. It allows us to see other not as objects but as fellow human beings in need of the love of Christ.

    • I completely agree in what you have said, being impatient can lead us to many wrong decisions in our lives, by not asking God permission, by not asking God guidance we are leading ourselves in doing wrong things, in doing only what we want but forgetting what really God want us to be.

    • Growing in spiritual wisdom means being virtuous in the eyes of God. People may call you stuck up or holier than thou, but in the eyes of God you are valuable. According to Proverbs 31 you can have a profitable life with good relationships, a happy home life, and successful business ventures, as long as you run your life according to God's principles. Therefore you should not allow other people's criticisms and opinions to weigh you down. Instead, be concerned with obeying God and being a valuable jewel according to his will.
