Parenting Skill: Reasons Why Kids Are Rude These Days

It is hard to ignore the fact that nowadays kids are plainly rude , lack of mannerism or non respectful towards parents.

Gone are the days when kids at our age were polite, respectful and courteous.

Being under my mother’s wings, both My brother and I had to learn to be angels in front of strangers and relatives.

However, we weren’t that rude at home either because she always waved the rod when our devil acts started to surface.

Imagine this scenario;

You came home from work, your child doesn’t greet you or give you a hug.

Instead, he buried himself under a pile of comic books or magazines.

Sometimes, you noticed him fully absorbed with whatever he was watching it playing with the iPad or smartphone, as if you don’t exist at all.

During discussion, he refused to put down his gadget to even look at you.

He wasn’t interested in participating in any discussion, simply nod with agreement or simply answer your questions without thinking seriously about it.

This us rudeness which parents or older siblings should not ignore.

So, what are the reasons behind your kids rude behavior?

Culture

It is the culture that we lived in.

Everything is casually done without control.

Expecting kids to change their behavior overnight is simply impossible when they had adapted to rudeness since young.

If your kids are accustomed to rudeness at home but you gave not corrected him immediately, they will assumed that rudeness is no big deal, not a serious issue at all.

However, your child`s attitude towards his friends changes when he makes a phone call or speak with them properly.

Obviously, rudeness is not acceptable among friends who are well educated.

They wanted pride and praises from friends unless the bad company don’t mind rudeness.

Apart from that, kids had been using technology device at early age, some from age 1 that had brought many disadvantages.

Parents always put the blame of rude behavior towards kids involvement with gadgets which is unfair.

Parents should take control of gadgets usage daily and get kids to involve with verbal communication face to face as often as possible.

Rude behavior should be stopped and corrected immediately on the spot but do it wisely, depending on the situation.

Working parents are too busy with their hectic schedule, hardly notice of the child`s rude attitude.

Busy parents should not make excuses for themselves when things go wrong.

Pushing the blame to each other is the worst concept of parenting

It is the parents responsibility to keep checking on kids mannerism and behavior as often as possible.

Some parents may say that they don’t have time to teach kids how to behave well and talk politely.

Most of the time, parents are very lenient and close on eye when kids speak with disrespect towards elderly folks such as grandparents and parents themselves.

Rude behavior in school is not tolerable where teachers in charge would instantly correct students for behaving rudely.

Although our modern society accepts rudeness with an open heart among friends, parents should insisted on correcting the rude behavior  before it is too late.

Make it as the priority rule in the household that positive parenting skill is crucial, never display rudeness yourself in front of your kids and be strict towards your misbehaving kids with a serious body language.

Be aware of your kids intellectual languages when communicating with siblings and especially mother.

Kids tend to bully Mother because they know her weakness.

Cultivate good manners when your kids are young.

It is easier for them to adapt and learn politeness and kindness from the start.

Insist them to apologize when they are wrong.
