Oh silly me: I admit I am too careless

I am probably getting older and forgetful as the time is passing by and that is very much normal for a person my age. What I am feeling that a man when finds himself financially secured he either becomes extra conscious or a little too careless as far money matters are concerned.

I am not saying I am a moneyed guy but I do not depend on online earning for my day to day needs for sure. But I can only say that I am not that careful with money matters as much as I should be. As I said it is all a part of the game so I have stopped worrying about these minor glitches we all commit in our life time.

I have been discussing with my online friends as how I have lost money on different websites by providing wrong information to site owners within last couple of days because I was either too tired working late online or was too careless in handling the matters which needed my better attention.

Like I was telling one of my friends on this site how I gave the wrong email ID even if I missed only a single character but she did not think it was possible. But it is very much possible and in such cases the money goes back to sender when there is no one to claim it (and with wrong email ID, there is no chance anyone can claim it, not even you if you try to make an ID which is next to impossible).

Same happened with me in 2012 when Triond sent me $18+ but I had put a wrong email address while living in another country and I had attached that ID to my Local bank. I have the dubious distinction of providing wrong or misspelled ID on many writing sites in my online career so far including Bubblews, Triond, and very recently to Indyaforums. I have asked them all to correct the situation but in such cases no one responds to your queries. (Barring Indyaforums but the result is still in waiting).

Like I said it was the same case when I asked for my balance of close to $400 for my three pending payments which the support from Bubblews had said could not be traced as the data was missing due to unavoidable reasons that took place during change of platform. That was none of my fault so when the support asked me to provide my credentials I was over excited and missed one (.) in my email ID.

In fact, when I missed (.) in my mail ID there was no warning system when you give your email ID to support. As I said, it happened twice in last two days. In one case I had to provide my mail ID and I missed L from my mail id and the gift card voucher was made in a wrong mail Id. the admin promised me that he will try to get it right. Once again, I don’t mind such silly mistakes which are part of the human and I am not the only one who would ever make them.

    • "To Err, is human" We make mistakes since we are human. I know that I make my fair share of mistakes and maybe more than my fair share. It is just something that we will keep doing no matter how much we try not to. Great post!!

    • It should be already a lesson to you for you have been doing something wrong not only once, twice but more than that. Negligence is easy to solve if you are aware of what you are doing is wrong. There is a saying that says, "Once is enough". You are right. It shouldn't be blamed for old age.

In your problem, the best and appropriate solution is to copy-paste your email ID, rather than typing it direct to the info box. With this for sure, you won't be mistaken. You won't be encoding the wrong email ID. It is the correct email address you have sent them.
