Yesterday on Sunday I visited Machiwara place which is related with our Religion Sikhism as its related with our Religious Father and Tenth Guru of Sikhs. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This holy place is sanctified by the visit of Guru Gobind Singh. After the battle of Chamkaur Sahib, enduring hardships, he pushed his way through the thick jungles infested with thorny bushes. After an arduous journey, he lay down on the bare stony ground for rest in the garden of Masand Gulab Rai.
Where Guru Gobind Singh ji was seen by his devotees Ghani Khan and Nabi Khan and they recognised him and provided all facilities to the great Guru. From here Guru was taken in a Palki (Palanquin) disguised as ‘Uch Ka Pir’ and this Gurudwara even have that painting as well showcasing that.
For this purpose the Guru put on a blue dress and so did his disciples accompanying him. The plan they adopted, proved a total success. Only once the procession of the Guru was intercepted by Mughal army but answer of Nabi Khan and Ghani Khan was so convincing that no suspicion was raised by the Mughal soldiers Thus Gurdwara Machhiwara has became a place of pilgrimage. Up to this day people remember the two Pathan brothers Nabi Khan and Ghani Khan with great respect as they risked their lives in serving the Tenth Master. And that Gurudwara also has place where both Ghani Khan and Nabi Khan’s tombs were and all people visit their tombs and Gurudwara as well and that’s why Sikhism is for all and we respect all religions and do visit all religious places in the world. That’s why Gurudwara’s have four doors to Entry like we have in Golden temple Amritsar and it symbolizes that any one from any religion is welcome and any one can sit with us and have the blessings of God and can also have Langar which is free food served in the Guruddwara Sahib and can be taken by anyone without any discrimination of any religion.
