    • Good. Let me know about another article of yours. I like your writing style.

    • It is very true unfortunately that kids nowadays have no time for reading school books. Even the story books that our parents used to buy for us when we were younger so that we could improve on our English language, spellings and grammar, things that made us better are things that are not being done by parents nowadays. If I look back in the days parents had a day in everything that a child was doing and it was their word against the kids. No one had a right as such to decline what the parent said you just had to do it for your own goodness sake. So would I be wrong to say that parents nowadays are slacking behind when it comes to taking care of their kids? I don’t think so .like you have said kids from the age of 5 spend so much time online, who teaches those kids how to operate those gadgets and how do they get hold of them is it not the parents in the pretends that they want their kids to be well informed and not slack back? If anything the best thing a parent would do for a child is to get them various books and teach them what the real world is all about.and not lie to them that the world is an easy place to be. It’s only the parents that can decide what a child should and should not have not the other way round that is my opinion.

      • yes, if parents had initiated the first step, then children will follow suit later.
Back then, my parents couldn’t afford to buy story books for me.
We had borrowed from libraries and got free old encyclopedias from my rich cousins.

We never had computers at home since we cannot afford one.
So that is how I got hooked to reading

    • The question now is how to bring back the interest in children to read stories. It will never be a question if there are good stories because we have lots of books and stories from the past up to now.

Maybe the parents should invest time to read some stories to their children. This one will develop their interest to read more stories. When I was a kid I love to read stories and now I am a writer.

      • true, parents should spend more time on reading books, newspapers to kids when they are young.
because once they becomes adult, they are not keen in reading anymore

    • It is a fact that children are not interested in reading due to computer or YVs or movies all dancing on the screen before their eyes that is why reading trends in children are losing interest but I think it is a very serious matter we all must think abut this serious and dangerous matter what to do now?

f we want our young people to read, it won’t happen automatically. There are too many other fun things to do. But it’s not rocket science. If we care about reading, and if we put good books in front of students, and if we foster a love of reading, then young people will read.

Your life evolves into different sets of responsibilities, interests and aspirations that are reflected by how you utilize time. In other words, one day you were a readaholic and then next you discover internet video surfing which replaced your reading times. Surfing time became more important to you.

The best part of reading is that not only do you gain knowledge but the process of reading books helps unlocks different parts of your brain that enhances your ability to acquire different perceptions and interpretation about life that leads to deeper insight.

Let us think why children are losing interest in reading?

peachpurple wrote a new post, The Benefits of Exercise for High Blood Pressure 8 years, 2 months ago

Most patients with high blood pressure hate the taste of bitter medicine.

This apply the same theory for exercise, anything that is related to physical activities, people with high blood pressure are giving […]

    • thanks very much. I believed that exercise benefits for everyone, regardless with or without illness

    • Yes, there are many exercises for high blood pressure that may be done at home. If you already have hypertension, regular physical activity can bring your blood pressure down to safer levels. The best types of exercise for lowering blood pressure include walking, jogging, cycling, swimming or dancing. Strength training also can help reduce blood pressure.

Exercise in our culture may not “just happen.” When your daily routine includes hours of sitting at a desk using computers and browsing the internet, staying current with television shows and using countless labor-saving devices, you can easily fall into inactivity. But taking charge of your fitness may be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make. The choice is yours.

For overall health benefits to the heart, lungs and circulation, perform any moderate- to vigorous-intensity aerobic activity using the following guidelines:

For most healthy people, get the equivalent of at least 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) per week of moderate-intensity physical activity, such as brisk walking.
If you need to lower your blood pressure or cholesterol, aim for 40 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity 3 to 4 times per week.
You can incorporate your weekly physical activity with 30 minutes a day on at least 5 days a week.
Physical activity should be performed in episodes of at least 10 minutes, and preferably, it should be spread throughout the week.
      Include flexibility and stretching exercises.
Include muscle strengthening activity at least 2 days each week.

    • Physical activity or exercise can improve your health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease. Physical activity and exercise can have immediate and long-term health benefits. Most importantly, regular activity can improve your quality of life. Exercise helps people lose weight and lower the risk of some diseases. Exercising to maintain a healthy weight decreases a person’s risk of developing certain diseases, including type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. These diseases, which used to be found mostly in adults, are becoming more common in teens.Physical exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness. It is performed for various reasons, including strengthening muscles and the cardiovascular system, honing athletic skills, weight loss or maintenance, and merely enjoyment.A workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. You may also feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.

peachpurple wrote a new post, 4 Tips How to Help Your Child When having Problem At School 8 years, 2 months ago

    Everyone has problems.

Even school-age children and teenagers faced […]

    • I wouldn’t really know what to say about it as a parent because am not one. But let me speak as a child who has been there before and who has been there for my teenage nephews and nieces. Many are the times parents have a problem with their teenage kids, because maybe they’re too harsh or are you busy to listen to them. I remember when my nephew was in high school he had a hard time talking to his dad because he believed that what he said is what stays, but little did he know that he was pushing away his son without his knowledge. His mum died when he was still a young boy so he became so close to me and I became his “mum”.he would open up to me and I would advice him accordingly. So I felt that th3 dad did not give him time or an ear to hear what he had to say it share and that can be very dangerous in a growing child. So I agree with you on the 4 points and if parents could just spare some quality time with their kids they wouldn’t be having problems like saying that don’t wanna go to school.

    • Children face three types of problems at homes and schools: psychological, psychical and mental. Mental problem is genetically, physical problem is by birth and psychological problem starts with home atmosphere. First child is brought up st homes and after this children go children go schools to improve home education.

If children face any type of problem at school its root lies at home and not at school. Parents are supposed to to bring up heir children in a peaceful atmosphere so that they could face any problem at school because its hinders the children’s educational progress.

Ups and downs at school are part of life for many young people. A good relationship with your child’s school and teachers can help you head off problems. If school problems do come up, it’s important that you quickly recognise and address them.

School problems can show up as poor academic performance, lack of motivation for school, loss of interest in school work, or poor relationships with peers or teachers.

School difficulties range from minor to severe, might be very short-lived or last for longer. Even short-term school problems can have a negative impact on how young people feel about school – and themselves.

peachpurple wrote a new post, 3 Ways to Enjoy your Work 8 years, 2 months ago

When you wake up in the morning, do you feel lazy and reluctant to get out off bed?

Do you feel dread towards getting ready to work at your office?

Are you feeling unhappy with your full-time job or you do […]

    • That is really helpful but when you think of life, the hard life we are living, and we are working for a bread for a day, how can you enjoy your work. It also reminds you that you are not receiving high salary, you may not enjoy your work.

    • Lazy and reluctant? Nope. These days I’m happy every time I open my eyes. 🙂

Dread going to the office? Used to! But I quit my job. No more dread. Wasn’t the easiest decision to make but I have absolutely no regrets.

Work is what you do to earn money to pay the bills. But it should involve doing something you like. However, if you’re not fortunate enough to land the job of your dreams, be positive about the way you approach your tasks and be thankful you have a job. A lot of people are unemployed. 🙂

    • Those facts are all true, we all need to eat about 3 times at least and have a good rest to be able to better focus on work every day. And I also agree to that fact – Life is more important than Work. So true. I guess that not everyone thinking like that.

    • How can someone enjoy his job when there are colleagues that are putting pressure on you? making you always stressed up, you wake up in the morning knowing that you have to go through it all over again for a new day, it kills my mood.

    • So true. I agree with your sentiments. The only way to enjoy your job is by no ing what you do, without that it will be impossible to enjoy your job. I remember one time I was in such a situation where I used to struggle every single day, when I wake up I just want to get back to my blankets shut my eyes and tell myself that this is just a bad dream. But the reality of the matter was that I had no choice, but to wake up bathe dress up ha e a cup of tea and hit the road. It really made me sad soetimes just thinking about it. So this can also be very disappointing to you and your employer because you don’t even focus on your work you have no passion to do yourbest and get your company to the place that you would want it to be. So I would suggest to anyone that is not happy in their job to start looking for another job and leave where you are for th3 sake of being sana and healthy. It’s really not worth it to stick there and be frustrated throughout your life in the name of securing a job.

    • Work is a source of pleasure if no work life is dull doing something is better than doing nothing. Work may be irksome but its end is better on the contrary negative work start is sweet but its end is bitter. Therefore work according to choice brings happiness to the worker if not may have benefit and lies in it fame without cast.

Because work comprises such a large part of our life, perhaps we should take a closer look at some simple ways to enjoy work more. Because we all have the ability to change our perspective, we also have the ability to change the way we feel about different aspects of our lives. Work is an area of life that is often ripe for a little perspective modification.

What would it take for your work to feel more enjoyable and rewarding? Is there a way to create a mental shift that would allow you to start looking forward to working?

We spend a lot of time trying to find ways to be more productive, and I am all for productivity to a point. There’s nothing wrong with finding ways to spend our time more effectively. But instead of just doing more work in less time, it is also important to find ways to enjoy the work we are doing.

Whether you are an employee who needs to develop a more positive attitude toward work, or an employer in search of HR software to make your job less stressful, their are things you can do to make work more enjoyable.

    • You have the point with your blogs. But I must add this “We often miss opportunity because it’s dressed in overalls and looks like work.” ― Thomas A. Edison

A 7-Step Path to Enjoying Work

      1. Realize you were designed to work.
      2. Understand work takes place in an imperfect world.
      3. Use work to supply provisions for yourself and your family.
      4. Notice how your work contributes to the common good.
      5. Work ethically.
      6. Humbly and proudly accept honest compensation.
      7. Remove the pursuit of riches.

    • Best way for me to enjoy my work? Keep the coffee flowing. 🙂

Daily life during the Middle Ages is sometimes hard to fathom. Pop culture loves to focus on exciting medieval moments-heroic knights charging into battle; romantic liaisons between royalty and commoner; breakthroughs and discoveries made. But life for your average person during the Dark Ages was very routine, and activities revolved around an agrarian calendar.

Most of the time was spent working the land, and trying to grow enough food to survive another year. Church feasts marked sowing and reaping days, and occasions when peasant and lord could rest from their labors.

Social activities were important, and every citizen in a medieval town would be expected to attend. Fairs with troubadours and acrobats performing in the street¦merchants selling goods in the town square€¦games of chance held at the local tavern

tournaments featuring knights from near and abroad¦these were just some of the ways medieval peasants spent their leisure time. Medieval weddings were cause for the entire town to celebrate.

    • It looks tasty in eating I will try to make it at am home today sure. But I will make thus as I have in a boof of Sea Foods Cooking
      Ingredients
      4 Fillets Fresh Mackerel (400g)
      2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil (20g)
      1 Onion, Medium (150g)
      6 Garlic Cloves (18g)
      ½ Teaspoon Ground Ginger (2g)
      1 Teaspoon Cumin (3g)
      2 Teaspoons Ground Coriander (6g)
      1 Teaspoon Ground Turmeric (3g)
      1 Teaspoon Garam Masala (3g)
½ Tub Natural Yogurt, ½ Large Tub, Low Fat (250g)
      4 Green Chillies (20g)
      7 Tablespoons Brown Rice (285g)

      Method
Peel and chop the onion and garlic.
Wash the chillies and cut them in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds and white bit surrounding them. Finely chop the chillies. Wash hands immediately after.
Heat the oil in a heavy-based frying pan and cook the onion over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until softened and lightly brown.
Add the garlic and spices to the pan and stir for 2 minutes.
Add the yogurt and chillies to the pan. Cover with a lid and simmer on a low heat for 10 minutes.
Add the mackerel fillets and continue to simmer on a low heat for 10 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily. Try not to cook too long as the fish will produce a liquid and the sauce will spoil.
Cook the rice according to the instructions on the packet and serve with the fish curry.
