So it’s also International Book Giving Day yesterday , February 14. I didn’t know that. All I know is that it was Valentine’s day yesterday.
That being the International Book Giving Day, we can hit two birds in one two when we give the children books on Valentine’s day. It means it’s a gift for Valentine’s Day and for International Book Giving Day.
-
@Dina, good idea! Does the kid need to celebrate Valentine’s Day too? I thought this is only the festival for adults? 😛
Anyway, hope the public will donate some books to the kids too beside gifting some roses to their lovers.
Hope I can donate more books to the children whom needed them too next year. Keep my figure crossed.

Fantastic I love trifle. Living in the UK we can get it all the time so it’s a classic for us. I love how you ever described each part to it and glad you also love it!
-
Do you made them by yourself or buy it from outside.
My guess is so bought it from outside, i think it’s not available in India
-
-
I never had that but it looks so awesome in the pic you posted.
And I love the way you mentioned each and everything in detail, hats off -
Me too, hats off! The dessert looks yummy but I afraid I can not do this as I want to control the weigh of mine and my daughter, we should not take too much sweet things during this period.
So, no dessert, but I still love to make some sweet soup, especially like Tang Yuan. I think I would like to share the recipe sooner or later here with all the friends of LB. -
I think i is similar to what we make the refrigerator cake where we also layer it with sponge fingers or lady fingers. Then we put fruit cocktail then another layer of lady finger then fruit cocktail with all purpose cream too in every layer.
Then we refrigerate it for about 6 hours. It’s so delicious, i swear.
And I know that one too is so delicious.

it is hard to say that, but if that is life then we have to accept it, some can not offer life also to their kids, little better than more, and as human we always want more and more, and that keep life going, to learn is great, but some learn in the schools and university but they are rude, no manners, life is the best and biggest school. if they can not learn from schools then learn from life, its better school any way, you can not live without life learning, experience and communicating is the best school in the life ever absolutely, so accept what you have and try to reach the sky but if you could not its ok try some thing else, no body at all ever ever ever has all the life offers, some has this and some has that, some has bigger quantity from this and some has less from that. Its life and thats it

Oh I love this recipe of yours. I will be copying this because I have read its ingredients and they are few and easy to make. Besides, you said that we can keep some on the ref (will it be in the freezer) so that at anytime we can fry them.
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. By the way, did you studied culinary arts because you have lots of recipes. 🙂

Is this croquettes look like nuggets of McD? Unfortunately, my children don’t really like Tuna fish because I serve not really often in my home as the Tuna in tin is getting expensive and I afraid contains too much salt or preservative.
Thanks for the recipe, I might like to modify a bit the recipe for catering the taste requirement of my children for instead.Maybe fish chip? fish meat?
Why not, right? As long as the ingredient is healthy and good for the children, right?

liked the photo, looks just as if its spring rolls which is my favorite food all the day, any way seems nice taste, enjoy it there

Those are the reasons that attracted me to the site in the first place. There are many things we can do here to earn some change. Almost every thing you do will get you a little something, even logging in and that is a plus. There are sites where we take 2 days just to even get one cent and that is when we work hard enough.
I am hoping that this site will be the one for me to write and have fun reading blogs from everyone around here.

Crabcakes are a popular food found along the eastern seaboard. You’ll want to consider the nutritional contents of crab cakes to decide whether you want to include them as part of a healthy diet.
Crabcakes do usually have some sort of vegetable, often carrots or celery. These are an important addition to crabcakes for a number of reasons. Vegetables contain numerous vitamins and minerals that are important for good health. They also contain lots of dietary fiber, which has been found to be effective in the treatment and prevention of a number of dangerous conditions, including cardiovascular disease and cancer. Fiber is great for people who are dieting because it is “bulky,” meaning that it takes up a lot of room in your stomach, making you feel full and preventing overeating more calorically dense foods.
-
Crabcakes are sky high in fat. They’re often made with mayonnaise, which contains lots of saturated fat. Like cholesterol, saturated fat has been linked to the development of cardiovascular disease, stroke and even some cancers. While there are some brands of mayonnaise now being sold as containing olive oil, don’t be fooled. There may be a bit of olive oil in the product (which is gaining in popularity due to the fact that is has unsaturated instead of saturated fat, and therefore prevents and treats some of the conditions caused by saturated fats), there is still a lot of the saturated fat found in the mayonnaise. In addition, crabcakes are typically fried. This adds tons of calories to your meal. When making crabcakes at home, try baking instead of frying. If you must fry your crabcakes, use olive oil. While this is still very high in calories, at least you’ll be getting unsaturated instead of saturated fat in your diet.

I am using this washing machine for the past 12 years This is great. So far I never had any trouble. It was a Top Loader. When I purchased it was the only model available with drier. A good mechanism that made the work easy. The speed and other activities are perfect. The credit goes to my wife who maintains it perfectly following the instructions meticulously. I am damn bored of this washing machine as it is giving looking dull. When I expressed it to my wife she kept it in her mind. A week back I saw a new washing machine. I thought that it was really a new one.
But, wife got the cover totally replaced.
I really surprise why couldn’t I get this idea.
I never had an opportunity to go for a new one.

What do you mean by side by side type of refrigerator. Is it the one with just one door and when you open the freezer has also its own door inside?
My in-laws refrigerator has just “died” a few years ago. They said that it served them for more Than 35 years already. Wow, how’s that for durability of a refrigerator. It is the two door and no frost type of refrigerator. The brand is Hitachi.
After that one died, we used our refrigerator which is as old as our daughter who is now 26. However, lately, it has been making a lot of frost already. Besides its door has no magnet anymore. It’s by G.E. Though it could still be operational had it not been of too much frost already and the door has no more magnet to make it close.
Hubby’s Auntie who lives with us plans to buy a big new one when her lump sum from SSS will arrive.
I must agree that those Japan made refrigerators are really so durable.
-
side-by-side means two doors on left and right. The one with a door inside has just launched newly in our country recently.
Your fridge seems not really well working now, need a replacement soon. Yes, agree with you, fridge can last about 25 years, so I think my one can last till I died…haha!
Good to have auntie to invest in the fridge for your family usage. Me always the one pay for the bill, even the T.V of my in law house…which I hate most…I think I will never do it again.
I will look for Japan made brand again in the future if upgraded is needed and must., but save money first. Haha!
-
You mean you bought your in-laws a television? But then of course they pay for their electric bill.
Well, at least you can consider the television as your gift to them .
You are a generous daughter-in-law. They must be so proud of you.

Are the cracked wheat cooked already after soaking it for 20 minutes?
I like salads, but it’s the first time I have heard of onewith cracked wheat which is bulghur so i know what it is already , since In our primary grades our teacher would let their maid cook the bulghur, donated by the US government to our school . And it’s delicious cooked in milk and some sugar.
Going back to the salad , I cannot imagine the taste though since there’s bulghur which seems out of place in a salad of veggies. -
Very good recipe. I heard about it somewhere long back. The chickpea and celery are rich in nutrients. The chickpeas are rich in protein and fiber Nothing can replace chickpea with regard to its fiber content. They are especially good for preparation of Salads. Celery is the best source of Vitamin K, B, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Potassium, Potassium, and Magnesium. Moreover, this is rich in Fiber also. It mixes well with chickpeas.
I will prepare this Salad for the next Sunday and see its taste.

Traditional foods should be kept. It is fine when regular meals are done from different generations. Chinese meals are widely known in the world. Chinese cooking is famous globally. It is worth original meals among the Chinese families to be kept all over the world in families and in Chinese restaurants.

Wow! Dear, you are talking all about my favourite food here.
My mom used to cook porridge everyday when I was young and stay at home, only white rice porridge, we will eat it with some dishes, just the normal type like vegetables, potatoes, etc.
The minced pork porridge only available when my mom is not working or she was in the mood. It’s as special meal to me.
My kids insisted that they don’t like to eat porridge after they can eat rice after 2. I fed them porridge when they were 1 year old. So, I didn’t cook porridge for years.
But, I started to cook porridge again lately as I have some white rice in my kitchen. Other than minced pork porridge, I cook some salted eggs, scrambled eggs like you too.
Cook the oat porridge instead of white rice porridge will be faster, I believe. But, would it be more healthier? I am not sure, my hubby is suffered from risk of gout, thus he can’t take oats. Hence, I can only cook white rice porridge.

Some people develop love and like for old things. This is no doubt a good hobby. There is no guarantee we always will be on the profit side. Sometimes we will incur heavy loss also. But, the chances for the latter are less.
Yes. The price of the old ones will be half of the new ones. It is also true that most of the machinery will have good quality material wise than the new ones.
I had a good experience. I got Manual singer sewing machine which is of 60 years old. We were not using it. I wanted to use it. So took it to the servicing center. The mechanic was an expert. He just saw it and asked ‘WHY WAS IT KEPT IDLE FOR THE LAST 40 TO 50 YEARS”. I told him the reason He asked for the machine and was ready to pay Rs.6000/- as is where is a condition. I did not accept for that and got it repaired. Now it is perfect.
Similarly, the story of my St.Thomas Wall Clock which is really 150 years old. My grandfather purchased it in those British days.
I really enjoy to have them and take good care of the above two items.
Good article. We have in the States a similar location. We call these places Thrift stores. They are designed to raise funds for the homeless and needy. Rich people contribute to these centers and you can find clothes with the receipt tag with it in good conditions. Plus, if you do your homework right, you can find good antique items in which you can sell for a profit. My wife and I have shopped at these places and we have gotten good deals, especially with the clothes. These places are good because not only do you get super deals but your funds helps out those in need. It is a win-win deal!
Mr. Siva, those antique lovers look for profits and it towards old coins, paper money, stamp, antique furniture, etc.
Me, just for fun and own collection, not much for profit. Haha!
Singer manual sewing machine is always the best, I believe, especially those old one, with 50 years and older. If you have an older, with 70 years old, I believe your must have a very nice flowery stand. This is what I always looking for and admired to, but yet get one with me so far. Sigh!
St. Thomas brand clock, I have no idea on the brand, but I just bought a digital Telesonic wall clock at USD4, we repaired it , it can play music and with some lights on , my kids are very happy with it. I believe, a new one could cost up to USD150 at least.
Yes, take well care of those antique items with sweet memory.
@Caleb, it’s win-win deal, but I not really go for profits, but most of the retires and furniture manufacturers come here and buy for re-cond those furniture for resell for profit.
