    • Doctor Ben Casey versus Doctor Kildare? I only watched Ben Casey because it was on TV. By comparison, I looked forward to watching episodes of Doctor Kildare. Richard Chamberlain was a dreamboat! As for James Franciscus? I rather liked him but you’re right. His career didn’t really go anywhere.

      • I loved Dr. Kildare; Casey… nah. When you do research and learn how this Vince Edwards went after Chamberlain… crazy. Pure Crazy.

Mr. Novak was a show that Fransicus could have grown old with. He could have stayed in the role, and maybe did a touch of moonlighting in movies, but he sank himself.

When a site is this slow, it is clear they are clamping down on the revenue you could earn.  Hence; if it is $10 on the 10th…. and you join June 1, you post and post and post, and by June 10 maybe you have $1.00  By July 10 you have $9.00, so you don’t reach payout until 10 August.  And are Supposed to be paid in September.

The definition of friend;  a person who knows you, but likes you anyway.  A friend is someone who knows your views so you don’t have to speak.

But most of all, if you are a friend, you will know why he did […]

    • having a real friend is the most beautiful thing in the world. sadly in my case I can say I was disappointed many times by people that I considered my friends

      • I usually have ‘two-tiers’ people who are my friends and those who are kind of environment. Environment always lets me down. Hypocrites, liars, actors… but real friends are priceless

    • Well, did he married for money not for love?
It is a good thing that you had understood him
      Such a saad case
      Sounds like a drama

      • It is very sad. He married for money and didn’t bargain on the fact she works for an embassy so after marrying him dragged him way around to the other side of the world to stay home and look after the children.

The other day she brought him back on a visit and it was like he had a leash around his neck.

Another friend of ours was ‘not allowed’ to see him.

        But I say nothing.

    • Friendship is most important thing in human life but we all must keep in mind that in choosing friends keep two things in min; either your friend must be beautiful or intelligent because your friends are your introduction in the society where someone lives. But I say

Make new friends but keep the old
These are silver those are gold

We make friends throughout life, in play school, school, college, office, just everywhere. As we grow through different phases in life, we meet new people and make new friends and do not necessarily give up on old friends. It all depends on how strong the bond of your friendship is. Friends are always there to guide and support you through the ups and downs of your life. They are the people who are always there to lend a helping hand to you.

These are most important friendship qualities as..
      Sharing is caring
      Trust and Loyalty
      Personal Adviser
      Listener
Selfless – Always ready to help
      Cheers you up
      Knows you inside out
      Forgiving
      Straightforward
      Not Judgmental at all

    • Friends are good and they can also be bad people it all depends on an individual choose your friends wisely , they are likely to hurt you at some point in your life. It’s not easy keeping friends for a long time. There ar3 those that will come into your life who will make things good and there ar3 those who will come into your life to ruin it for good. I have had friends who have come and gone in my life and sometimes I don’t regret them leaving. You usually come to realize later that they would have got you into trouble.
Your friend probably decided not to tell you about his wedding for reasons best to known to him. Men ar3 usually very jealous beings maybe he thought that if he tells you, you might tell him something that he may not be happy with. So the best thing was to keep silent and have the fun that he was hoping to get. People are very funny. If you have made a choice that’s your choice I will not try to make you change your mind, that is what you want and that’s what you will get. I feel it was wrong for your friend to have hidden the fact that he was getting married and still call you his friend. He probably felt embarassed to even mention it when you met, he will one day remember the friendship that you once shared.

    • Of course I’ve heard of these people. But then I’m probably older than most people here, lol. I love reading about celebrities from back then.

    • I vaguely think I saw re runs of 77 Sunset Strip and do recall seeing the name Lana Woods…

    • I remember both of them. But even though they didn’t make it really big, most folks from my generation still remember them. 77 Sunset Strip was real popular TV show and as you say everybody knew Lana because everybody knew Natalie. 🙂

      • You would think Natalie would have helped her sister a little more

        • In the entertainment business there’s only so much you can do for your siblings. Your siblings need to be able to shine on their own if they want to be a star. Fact is Natalie was much more talented than Lana. In the case of the Roberts kids it happened backwards. Eric Roberts was in the business first. He got his sister Julia Roberts into the film business and she has been way more successful than him! She was the star! No matter what she couldn’t share that brightness with him.

          • The nasty bio Lana did of Natalie sort of shows the bad feelings. I also think it has a lot to do with personality, how you act with others. With Edd, well, he made the mistake of signing the contract which put him in prison for a few dollars. Whether he was a nice man or not… but Lana prob wasn’t very nice.

kaylar wrote a new post, The Result of Indolent Parenting 8 years, 2 months ago

When you have the responsibility of raising a child, you must not raise him or her to be a child but to be a responsible adult.

Although this is obvious and has been obvious for thousands of years, it seems to […]

    • We have many such parents who indulge in all these acts and when their child is not wanting to study or not showing any interest. The come running to us to teach them saying they are finding it difficult to read and finish studies and the portion is too much for the dear child.

One more dialogue which we constantly hear from parents is that we have given our child to you now you please teach them like he is your child and make him into a genius. When told even they have to do certain thing for him to achieve success they say we do not have time as both of us are working that is why we are seeking your help to teach him. The thing is they do not want to do parenting but like to bear a child. Who will become future Dave’s at our place.

    • There are many different styles of raising children, all of which have differing effects on how they develop psychologically. It is important to be an authoritative parent, enforcing rules and expectations so that the child grows up with a learned sense of morality. However, parents who take their authority to an extreme level, expecting unquestioned obedience from their child, are known as authoritarian parents. This parenting style has negative effects of the social and cognitive development of children.

Authoritarian parenting is often characterized by strict rules and harsh punishments. These parents often shame their children and display a withdrawal of love and affection, as a form of punishment. The harsh, cold environment of fearful compliance that exists within authoritarian households, has many disadvantages on the development of children and adolescents.

Children raised by strict, authoritarian parents are more likely to have little self esteem and self-management when they reach adulthood. This is because blind obedience does not leave room for that child to learn how to self-regulate. They are more likely become depressed and show signs of anger outside the home. Also, for kids raised this way, juvenile delinquency is a common way of exercising their independence. Authoritarian parenting often teaches the child to only do what is right when a figure of authority is around, and it also teaches them to become excellent liars.

    • Strict parenting is typically referred to as the authoritarian parenting style because strict parents tend to impose a rigid structure of rules upon their children.

In a strict home, parents expect children to follow rules without question. While parents must be strict sometimes, particularly when it comes to issues like your child’s safety, using this style of parenting in every aspect of your child’s life can cause problems.

There are situation in which the child loves school.  It is almost an extended family.  S/he had friends and feels safe and comfortable.

There are cases where the child hates school, sees attendance on the l […]

    • No disagreement with what you’ve said. School was always a place I liked to be. But I do realize it’s not that way for all kids. Usually when kids don’t like going to school it can be narrowed down to three things: (1) The other schools kids are doing something to make them dislike going to school. (2) The teachers aren’t teaching and/or treating them well. (3) Or it’s both!

As long as the school environment is not a place where the student is afraid because they feel threatened, then my advice to the student is:
~ try to avoid the nuisance classmate who makes it their mission to annoy you or the one who tries to influence to do things you shouldn’t be doing and get you in trouble,
~ try to tolerate the teacher who probably isn’t the best teacher in the world and learn what you can, and
~ if you find activities to do that you really like, enjoy yourself!

Tell the kids that school doesn’t last forever and they’ll be out before they know it. Also give them a heads up about what happens AFTER school! “Hey kid! If you think school sucks, wait until you get into the work world. Hope you find a job you like!”

      • You have to be ‘hands on’ as a parent. For example, I was in the Supermarket and saw two of my daughter’s classmates who told me that the teacher had thrown her out of the class and said that any student who helped her.

When I got home my daughter didn’t want to tell me what happened. I wrote a letter to the school, I went up there… the principal said he’d deal with it.

A year later they fired the teacher, she took them to Court and my letter was key in insuring she was gone.

If I was a laid back Mom or hadn’t heard, my child would have suffered.

She loved school, so you can see the effect on her.

        • Don’t want to fight but sometimes you’ve got to. Some people push you until you do! Glad it worked out for you and your daughter. Too bad it had to get ugly like that. 🙁

    • And don’t forget bullying. It doesn’t just affect children’s currently, it also leads to many complications with personality when they grow up. Imagine a child who never had friends during elementary school to try and look for a group to hang out with in high school. That kid never even developed any social abilities to help itself.

    • When i was in elementary i really hate going to school that’s why im always absent and my mom always get mad at me and spank me whenever i have my tantrums but it change when i go to my secondary education. I use to be active in school and study very well. I still remember way back then, my favorite subject is history and science which got my attention well.

    • I have studied many cases those who hate for going school becomes intelligent more than those who go school regularly. School is just the place of discipline and no education at schools. Every great man hated going school because school snatches human intelligence and bound students do what the teacher says. History is full of such persons who hated school and got international fame. Shakespeare is one of them. In modern age I will recite just one example of Rabindranath Tagore. Who hated going school but git Nobel Prize in literature.

Listen what he says about the school.

      Rabindranath Tagore — born 1861; died 1941

winner of the 1913 Nobel Prize in literature

Tagore was a superb writer and one of the founders of modern Bengali literature. He was the first non-Western author to win the Nobel literature prize.
[School] forcibly snatches away children from a world full of the mystery of God’s own handiwork, full of the suggestiveness of personality. It is a mere method of discipline which refuses to take into account the individual.

It is a manufactory specially designed for grinding out uniform results. It follows an imaginary straight line of the average in digging its channel of education. But life’s line is not the straight line, for it is fond of playing the see-saw with the line of the average, bringing upon its head the rebuke of the school. For according to the school life is perfect when it allows itself to be treated as dead, to be cut into symmetrical conveniences.

And this was the cause of my suffering when I was sent to school. . . . I was not a creation of the schoolmaster,–the Government Board of Education was not consulted when I took birth in the world. But was that any reason why they should wreak vengeance upon me for this oversight of my creator? . . .

So my mind had to accept the tight-fitting encasement of the school which, being like the shoes of a mandarin woman, pinched and bruised my nature on all sides and at every movement. I was fortunate enough in extricating myself before insensibility set in.

No think in lone what is the role of school in making men great.

    • Yes, different people have different views about one thing but we must try to know what is reality working behind it. The profiles of online dating scammers can exhibit some clear signs that something is off—you just need to know what to look for. Most scammers choose victims that are older than they are, for example, so if someone who is significantly younger than you says that they’re interested, it could be cause for concern. Of course, just because someone is younger doesn’t mean that they’re a scammer; it’s just something to keep in mind.

Scammers also often list themselves as widowed (especially with a child), self-employed, or working overseas. They might also say that they live near you, but that they’re away; they could be in another country on a trip or for work, but they’ll almost certainly be somewhere far away where you can’t meet them.

Scammers are good at being charming and saying all the right things—and they start it fast. They have a lot of victims to get through, so they’re going to try to move things along as quickly as possible. They’ll hit you with the full force of their charm; they’ll say sweet things, compliment you a lot, and talk about how perfect you are for each other within the first couple weeks.

Think about if you would find it strange for someone to be acting like this if you just met in real life. If someone was expressing over-the-top love and passion within a couple weeks, you’d be worried.

    • This is indeed is good research. Never knew about the impact toilet training could have on a child. But it takes time for the mother to get that done.
My neighbour’s little fellow took very long. He would climb up on a stool, open the cupboard and pull out pampers and put them on himself and would be quite happy. (lol)

      • Imagine a child of that age, still sitting in his own filth. A child who can diaper himself but can’t control his bowels.

        It’s just lazy feral parenting.

    • In psychology, Sigmund Freud talked something about what he calls the anal phase. Its the time when a child becomes really aggressive. However, it is also the time when children are taught to be toilet trained. If they are trained during this period, they will enjoy holding their emotions, thoughts and everything that wants to get out from their minds when they get older. But they will enjoy releasing those thoughts if they were not trained at all.

      • It is called discipline. That one can control themselves. When a little baby has the ‘power’ of his bowels he can have the power over his mouth. The self-awareness is vital
